Are there races saturday and sunday? have to work sat but would roadtrip for the sunday races. What time do they start if at all on sunday? Finally acquired a plane and might just fly there. Need to build time, might get some shots of the races from the sky.
D-rail
Usually they have the hillcross on both days, but on Saturday, they have a track laid out for the hilldrags, which is a short course with no bumps... like this one from last year:

They run them at the same time that they run the hillcross- they said they were gonna try a new course layout this year, but we'll have to see when we get there. From last year:

i went two years ago and the racing hill was to the left of the big building. and the spectators had to walk thru pits to watch and not much watching room. where is the hill this year? and is the drags close to the hillcross?? I'm planning on going saturday morning. i'll try bring my video camera and get some footage
CHUB_CHUB
our hot pits will be where the snocross takes place and we will be coming up a hill that will come up along side the chalet/bar or whatever and the drags will be to the left and up more
Shane_98c
I think I will be down there on Saturday.

Here you go. Not cheap to participate though. About $70 registration fee to compete in the Sport class.

thats pretty cheap entertainment for the weekend if you thing about it. just look at how much a guys spends at the bar on a firday night, lots of time well over 100 bucks. this suddenly seems cheap.
CHUB_CHUB
i spend 200 a weekend on entry fees, 3 classes and drivers insurance

Cant do it this weekend though. Registration closed at 5 today. And if i'm not mistaken you have to be a member of WSA or WPSA or whatever. I thought about doing it also

I am going to run the Hill Drags on Saturday. The cost for each Sport Event is $25.00. I am running Sport 700 and Sport 800 and that was $90.00 for the works. Should be a fun weekend. Riley

Anyone feel like posting what number sled you are running? Adds a little more to it when you kinda know someone racing, maybe what class(es) and if you're an old hat at this or if you have any things to look for... like I wish my competitor on #333 runs alcohol and gets busted at tech for it???
CHUB_CHUB
u can still sign up at the trailer at registration friday night or saterday morning, they dont turn people down cause its more money for them and theyt like to make all people welcome. also u can purchase a weekend membership for like 45 bucks i beleive. so if u didnt get signed up to race show up friday between 2-6 probly and go the trailer and sign up or early saterday morning from 8-10 probly
CHUB_CHUB
im on the #987 black and red IQ, blue C&As, running semi-pro 800, 900 and open in hillx that is, and the #333 dont run alcohol and they rarely tech,

Looks like there will be a fresh 18" snowfall for you guys. rockernana.gif

I don't have a number on my side but this is what I will be racing. The new snow we are suppose to get should really make it fun

D-Rail COOL vids! Thanks for sharing that looks fun as hell to ride!

What time does stuff start on Saturday? I cant find it on their site.

Hillcross supposedly starts again on Sunday around 11:00 and they still have some drags left to run, prolly starting around 1:30... Depends on if you can believe what the announcers said or not... was a big cluster F7 today. We are bringing our sleds to bomb around tomorrow, we coulda spent at least a couple hours on 'em today and not missed a single thing. Couple crashes and saw a few wild races, many crazie machines on the drag hill.. one was a two stroke two cylinder 1200 cc AC with a huge turbo on, pushing around 350 hp.
Greasemonkey
You mean this one?
Talked to the guy and he has the wrong track on. The paddles were folding over and couldn't get much traction. Wickied fast sled.
The same guy also had an orange sno pro there with a turbo.

x2 on that. Can anyone bring their sled or ATV to get around on?

We stayed for an hour or so. Couldn't find a decent spot to see anything.

Ya, he said the track was the same one he runs when he goes out west in the mountains... it's for sale $13,500 unless no one buys it in a month or so, then the $$ will drop. Told me the sled has no chassis mods, and only about 300 miles on it. He said he has more sleds than money, wants to get a crossfire 1000R for next season, drags @ Haydays... won the Open class today with it. Geared for around 150 mph, launch is a little slow, but when it hooks up down the lane, look out!

We bombed around a lot today (just short of 20 miles) on the slopes, beats walking up and down. Didn't want to miss the hilldrag finals, so we had to keep blasting up there to keep an eye on those... I forgot to put my memory card in my camera for yesterday's races, had to video a bunch instead. I remembered it today, here are couple:

Next to the drag hill, kid stuff, went on for quite a while-

Nice job of installing the turbo. Saw him playing on the hill yesterday before the races and when he hooked up, he was almost out if control.
From what I heard, he works for D&D motors developing motors and turbo setup's.

does anyone know the results of the drags for any class?
CHUB_CHUB
mark richards to 2nd in both his sport and semipro 600 finals jake. other than that i dont really remember, i only made one final out of my 3 classes and took 4th, great job to Ross Gramling #666 out of Cook with 3 first place finishes and 1 third in his finals. couple serious bad crashes today and yesterday. #121 Ryan Blenker crashed yesterday and broke his femer in 2 places. Another kid got landed on today, ended up with 3 broken back bones, punctured lung, induced acoma and ruputered spleen. couple other bad crashes also. but most of the racers liked the new hill along with myself. hopefully they will have it wider for next year to be able to run 8 people in the finals Results for the big air are #106 Alex Roufs with 150 ft for 1st, #193 Matt Pichner with 149 ft for 2nd, and #64 Ben Deaton with 141 ft for 3rd

Nice vid! I wrench for Deaton and I told him after the first run that he should go all out for the second one and make the mark with the front bumper to get that extra distance he needed, but he didn't do it for some reason. tongue.gif

They managed to stretch out the hilldrags until Sunday, Glenn Hall on the turbo AC was waiting all day to make one run. Man, was he flying! Weisenberger got a good holeshot, but the turbo kicked it in and blew by... Mark Weisenberger, who was on a 2005 Ski Doo, ran the Open, 900, and the 800, won every race he ran except to the turbo in the Open.

Jackie Wellum won the 700 class, prolly helped due to the fact she might weigh a hundred pounds (or less).

The 800 race had to be put on hold, as #785 had switched sleds for the last race, and Louis Goldbach (#63) caught him before they left, (something about having to run the same sled he qualified with) With everyone waiting on the starting grid, the guy exchanged clutches with his other sled and then they raced. Lots of great action:

Have done a lot of riding with Mark and his family up in the Isabella area over the last few years.
Mark runs the same sled on the trails that he races. Has to carry his own gas mix to ride though and that makes long distance riding imposable.
Mark knew he was going to lose to the turbo but he still had to try. All it takes is for something to happen to any sled and you can win.

Taking a break in Isabella last year..

He has Chad from Franks racing to thank for the set up. Had his sled dialed in perfect for the races. Chad also sets up his own sled and Marks son's sled for the hillcross.
