I think today is the last Sunday for the Turkey. Lots of open spots and lots of small holes that are getting bigger. It's fast in the safe places though! I got a season's best 117 out of my sled several times today...

Sweet ride man... I forget - do you drive it on the street too? How fast is it, and do you run quick street (I assume those are full NOS shots off the line)? How fast?
Quik Street, I did not expect to see that mentioned here. Me and my son are always in Weare and Dunbarton riding, we did a 60 mile loop April 1st out of Clough. Planing on a few quik street races this year.

Scott, not really, i do throw the dealer plate on it a couple times a year to do a car show or 2, i also tune it on the street, but i wont jump in it and take it out to dinner or anything.
car went 9.9 on motor and 8.9 on 200 shot hoping to run a little quicker this year. we'll see.
leo, sweet ride man!!! looks good.
Trail, thats an 01 ta. i built the car a couple years back. has a forged short block and a pile of bolt ons. car runs 10.4's all day with a 125 shot at over 3700 pounds, real cool street car. it may be for sale soon. the owner was thinking about selling it because he bought a house

Is that Gary B's old Q/S car?
Yes it is. With a pump gas 540 CI, street tires, wipers and actually registered. Ispection ?

What's a 427 small block? A 350 with an odd crank? Or something else? I've heard of a 434...
A 'little' spray eh? The launch in you photo looks like a 'lotta' spray

Major Kudos to you for making it hook! I saw Rob Hyatt stand his Nova up on the rear bumper and go sideways bigtime with a full shot off the line. Now that I think about it, he looked like you under the bridge!

its an lsx block which is a LS searies race block built by gm performance parts. its based off the camaro/corvett blocks but it had stronger parts and more room to bore it etc.
it is a 4.125 bore with a 4" crank this block can go as big as 454 cubes and bigger if the crank and block get hit up with some bridge port and grinding work.
as for spray, thats only on a 200 shot the car is full hit 200 right out of the hole. runs 1.27 60 foot 8.9 @ 149 that was lifting because i was heading towards the rear bumper. she came down a little hard and dented my headers. lol
the car runs good for what it is. 9's all motor with a nitrous converter and a nitrous tune up.

Is that 1.27 measured at the back wheels? Do you carry the front wheels past 60'? From the looks of that picture I would guess that you do...
NOYZEE
Apr 12 2008, 06:47 PM
the 1.27 was on the rear wheels, that was my first time i didnt think the car was going on the bumper, so i road it out i have a pic of where it was on its way down, and its about 80-90 feet out. usually i run 1.30 60's with the front tires but thats with a small delay in the spray.
i have wheelie bars for this year, so im hoping to put the car into the 1.25 range and not have to lift between that and the new heads im hoping to go a bit faster then my 8.9. i ran the car all season on a 100 shot, i went 8.9 the 2nd pass out with the 200 shot, so im guessing with a little more time tunning it she was good for 8.8 or so. but time will tell. parts should be here soon. i just finished up putting a motor together and swapping it out on my buddy's truck, i have a cam swap and a converter swap to do this week and my car, so hopefully i can get it all done and weather pending get her out this coming weekend.

Do you need a lift for the converter swap? I have a 9000lb Rotary two post lift in my garage at the house and a tranny jack. I would love to help you do the work. I'll be around all weekend - give me a call. Oh - wait - you wrote this last Saturday - you are probably already done. Lift is available any time you want it. I also have a 14" I beam supporting my roof to mount a hoist on if you ever want to yank the motor quickly. I set my garage up as a race shop when I built the house and had the car. Now my sh!t just sits there...
