A reliable source has informed me last week, that next year, our club (Lunenburg polar bears) has aquired the contract for the Balls and north, a total of 28 miles of contract. The club is in the process of buying a used tucker and drag out of Ohio, and we will use that to regularly groom this section that has been so hotly contested this year. Its a very heavily traveled section, but we have some very dedicated folks to run this machine, in fact, you will most likely see me in it as well next season helping Greg with the route. If all goes as planned, your 102 experience should be much improved next season. My hat goes off to the Lunenburg club as their trails have been excellent this season, absolutely tabletop smooth, almost overgroomed in fact. We are in the process of 'promoting'our club, its a quiet, mostly unkown club thats been stagnant, but I expect that to change soon as I will try to get us our own web site, Kevin & Colleen have designed sweatshirts/shirts/ jackets with our club logo embroidered on them, we hope to offer them online by fall, and local stores like Garys will sell them as well. Lots of work to do this off season, stay tuned....

Tip: Make your maps topographical and as exact as possible...with GPS coordinates...then, offer PAYPAL payment for club dues, groomer donation, and map sales on line.
You'd be amazed at how these things can help the club..
Good luck.

It has been contracted out to a guy who lives in Morrisville this past year, and there were issues with the timing of the grooming, as you know, timing is sometimes everything.

Exact details will be available after the Essex County meeting on Monday night in Guildhall. The proposal won't affect the CT Valley Sno-Riders section of 102.

If you are able to make the meeting, please let us know how things went,.I will not be able to make it due to work and travel time.

Heard the actual trails maintainence responsibilites might not be decided until a June county meeting.

The reliable source seems to a bit off with their info. Monday nights Essex County meeting was extremely positive regarding grooming next season. It will be best if the Lunenburg officers announce their plans when everything is finalized.

Am I to assume that this 'project' is still up in the air??

Things weren't finalized as of Monday, but could be any day. VAST usually likes to award grooming contracts for 40-50 miles of trail if possible.

I think there is 58 miles in that system maybe wrong.

Serbie,
2 things...
1, who will likely be grooming the pipeline into Lancaster? That is a critical trail for people like me who stay in NH and access VT via that trail.
2, I have alwys joined Brighton as my VT Club, please furnish me with Lunenberg membership info when the time comes as I would like to join the Lunenberg club - try to support the trails we ride.

Thanks

Peter
