I noticed most guys seem to be ordering the LEs,I love the all black of it,but I just can't choke down the extra coin! I ordered the std. Z1 turbo. Jay

When I had first seen these machines(pics) and read the brochure, it was going to be the Z1LXR.And then I seen them in person. Not impressed with the gray at all.Very dull looking i thought. The LE models is actually painted, from what i can tell, much shinier and overall the sled looks finished. The first pics didn't do it justice, the copper and black just doesn't photograph very well. And in 4 or 5 years the tunnel and rails wont have that disgusting oxidized aluminum look to it.just my opinion.

For me I don't mind the unpainted tunnel! I'd rather polish once a year than have the paint wear off the running boards. But I DO like the painted plastic, should resist scratches much better. Not real fond of the gray hood either,I keep hoping the production ones will be darker. They don't look gray in the book.Jay

yeah, thats what i thought too.book looks so much darker.i had thoughts of what it would look like painted green......a cat should have some green on it lol.

I am a cat lover---bought more than 20 over the last 37 years-but I have to say after looking at the turbo at the show last week...these things are ugley...ugley..ugley...whats with that sick looking copper windshield that looked like they painted it with a cheap brush....and the Grey hood....bad sick...I have a 2008 Black Z1 Night fire...and will keep it until cat does something on the color scheme and lightens this thing up.......on the lake and wide open trails, I am sure its awsome...but now add a 25 to 30 pound turbo to a sled that weighs over 600 without gass and she's not going to be a great trail machine in the twisties......Artic if you read this----I want to see the four stroke in your new modified SnoPro next year---or I will most likely be switching to the SkiDoo 1200 4 stroke----it handles awsome and feels light.....just my 2 cents worth and 100,000 miles of riding experience....may that my problem ---old age and not knowing it.
turbolxr
I think the turbo looks better than an F series.....the 07's were butt-ugly with the silver and terrible plastic.....my two pennies

Does the Turbo Touring LXR have painted panels? It looks the same as the LE but different coloured stickers. It looks like it has an black painted hood as well. Anyone know for sure?

You have to get the LE to get the painted pannels, spring snow check only!

Yep....guinea pigs on both the color combo and what might be a weight issue as well.LOL (hopefully not)
So you've seen the copper windshield in person right? Does it look a bit cheesy or does it look better in person?
Also, I am under the impression that the prototype windsheild in the pics may not be the final product?
I'm not really that concerned about the windsheild since it could easily be changed if it doesn't look too good but just a little curious.

Viper, check here
http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/inde...29326&st=75
and you will see the pics i took at the ottawa show. if cat decides to make the windshield a bit darker than most of the pics of the prototype, i think it will be o.k. most pics seem to have an orange-ish look to it, the closer they get to copper the better.there is a good possibility i may change to black on mine, we'll see in the fall.

Just ordered an 2009 Z1 LXR for my father. Getting rid of his sabercat 500 I hope.

Not sure what you were quoted for prices, but the difference here between the standard turbo, LXR, & LXR LE was $600 to get the lxr and then $200 more for the LE.... which I don't think is out of line to go from the standard to the LXR with it's extras (1.25 cobra track, electric start, premium gauge, heated seat, etc) and then $200 more for the LE model. Ordered ours tonight ........
