I am planning on upgrading the rear skid on my 2000 T-CAT over the summer, since my ACT's are just flopping in the breeze back there. Ive been doing some reading on here and the majority are using Fox Zero Pro's. Is this what everybody would recommend? Are Ohlins or Walker Evans available in the correct lengths? Thanks

I have zero pros in the rear, love em for hard riding and jumping, but when you want to cruise they are a little stiff, but otherwise I'm very happy with them.

zero pro's all the way. ohlins are nice too but usually come at a premium.
if you decide on the zero pro's, make sure you go with the 2 in. body found on the sno-pro firecats...

FYI my 2" zero pro came from a cf - 2007 sp (running the whole skid though)

how difficult was it fitting the CF skid into the Tcat?

It was not a direct bolt in. I had to use my tcat front arm, and I welded the shock mount of the rear arm from the cf into the rear arm of the tcat arm - the cf arms are almost an inch narrower than the tcat tunnel. I used the factory 02 ss front tunnel hole, and a set of rear drop brackets from a z570, although I think most mc rear brackets would work. One other thing I noticed with the cf skid is the front to rear hole spacing in the tunnel is equal to the skid arm spacing, where the zr/zrt chassis had about 1" differance (in other words the stock tcat skid had to be slightly preloaded to install in the tunnel, but the cf skids bolt straight in) The cf skid is slightly more "jacked" due to the 17" of travel, so the skid angle is slightly different than stock, so far this season I have put 3000 miles on this setup, and have not found any adverse effects other than a little less ski lift. It does however hook well and transferes well, but most noticeably is the improved ride in the rough and added traction off trail. It takes 3' - 4' air time like a champ!
