So who is done for the year?? I figure one more weekend for me (this weekend) I may get wet and might have to trailer instead of riding 1/2 mile down a muddy road to get to the trail head, but it will be worth it.,,, Don't you think?

I might be done. I won't be back up in VT until the 10th. If there's enough to ride, I will. If not, then I had quite the good riding this past weekend.

Wow.. that is a pretty good year. I tend to figure 1000 miles is a good year for me. I know many weekends I get involved in clearing and other trail work that just sucks up my time and cuts down on the mileage. I am hoping to do some longer rides next season!

I'm right there with ya! The high note was hit this weekend! I can't see any way to beat this past weekend. The best riding and year I've ever had and that has got to be enough to hold me over until Dec. Besides, any more attempts to head out this coming weekend (with the way the weather looks) increases the chances of insurance claims!!

I'm done, was hoping to ride the last day aprill 15th as I had made first tracks in the NEK dec 16th, but the wife made resevations for FL, so it looks like I'll have to suffer on the beach instead. Hey Yamahadude & Mountianman, maybe next year we'll hookup in the NEK. Till then

http://www.robertlyonsphotography.com/webcam/index.phpI agree 100% that there is still some great riding to be had in Walden. Problem is there's a lot of road riding in the Coles Pond trail system. Hopefully some day the club can work to get those trails off the dirt roads because, other than that, it's high elevation and a very well groomed system!

I hear ya Tom. Ususally when the "I'm done" talk starts it means there's about three weeks of riding left, assuming you know where to go. Northern NH is definitely one of those places. There's still plenty of miles to be had.

prob one more weekend, this coming one, and that will push me to about 3200 for the year. i would call that good enough and put my baby away with a total of 7700 miles on her by then.

All done. Brought all my stuff home, "summerized" the sled, and put it away. Been out on the Harley several times already, and looking forward to a great summer of riding, and can't wait till next winter. I hate spring riding conditions. For me, the colder the better, cuz thats when the trails are the best.
Gonna sell or trade the TNT in the fall, and get another. Loved that sled.
So, I'm outa here for now, I'll be over on the Harley forums.
Thanks to everyone that makes riding snowmachine in VT the best there is. I really appreciate all you do.

It looks like I'm done. Last year I rode until the absolute last minute, and to be honest, it kind of spoiled it for me. The last couple rides were a disappointment and I didn't enjoy them.
I had a fantastic 90 mile ride this past sunday in February-esque conditions, and that was a great way to end the year.

I will definatly be up there next Season. I got so spoiled by NEK riding, I might not even hit woodford next year. 2/3 of my riding was the Kingdom this year.
So whats Opening day December 2008 ? 14th or 21st ?

Done, what a season. Rode 2,900 miles for my personal best.
We finally got to back pack from Northern Vermont up to the Laurentines. Made the trip a few times and it was the most fun trips of the year, no doubt.
Best of all, turned a few wrenches in December, dropped off four sleds in Vermont, and nothing but gas and oil for all of them all year.

Well I started this thread so I will respond. Went up to camp Thursday night with bad riding weather in the forcast. Boy did things change. Snow on Friday and a 100 mile loop and things where good. Called the rest of the crew and told them to get up here! Saturday did another 150 up to Norton, Cannan and back down. Other than ACBOB losing a clutch it was a good end of the season. We toasted off at Bitch'n Bob,s Saturday night and I called it a season.
Thanks to everyone that makes the riding in VT what it is.

http://www.robertlyonsphotography.com/webcam/index.phpI was over in Walden today...not on my sled...but saw a few out riding through mud and tons of water...not a good thing to be doing. Anyone riding right now is doing nothing but pissing off the landowners.

The trails are toast, time to pack it up until next year... see you then!
