I have a 97 xlt, it will idle fine, but as soon as I give it gas it just bogs out and if i hold the throttle it will die out. Any of you guys have an idea of whats going on?

Check your pilot jets, they may have vibrated out and fallen in the bowl.

sounds like you could have a throttle cable that isn't adjusted correctly.
synch the carbs and adjust the throttle lever freeplay,
the safety switches are what is shutting the motor down.
bad switches could do this also.
disconnect the kill switch and try to accelerate.
no bog would mean that it is bad switches or lever
freeplay not adjusted correctly.

yeah i've tried to disconnect the kill switch before, no luck though. Ill give a look at the pilot jets sometime tonight.
