I'll be there with bells on. Well, not really, but it would look funny wouldn't it?

Little po'ed I planned my trip over this, but hey...I would give up a 1000 of these show's for my trip to the mountains!!

Can't see there being anything too exciting....Poo's 800, and maybe a few decal changes here and there, but nothing that would drive me to a new sled......again... :P
Stangfire
What's it cost to get in?

Will the new crossfire R be there?

When did they start charging to get in? As long as I can remember it has cost nothing to get in.

True, the big 4 show was always free, it was the combined sled/atv show where you could buy clothes and stuff that they had admission.
polarisguy05
if you wear bells ill high five you. and yell while doing it

We are coming in from Saskatchewan, meeting our brother at carberry, should be a good show, it should be a better place to have the show, than down town, the parking sucked last year, my 4x4 wouldn't fit in the convention center parkade. What is a really good place for lunch besides HOOTERS?
Delgaty
I went with Ditch Raider, got there around noon and only stayed 1/2 hr. I was fairly impressed by what every manufacturer brought out this year. Anyone know what kind of track they use on the Assault? That thing was meaty! Cat has offered more competitive prices this year, lowered ours and raised the US to bring them closer together but the Z1 Turbo LE was listed at over $16K!! I guess there's alot of R&D behind that machine but wow. One thing I didn't like was the lighting, made everything look like you have yellow shades on. Assault looked orange when I first walked in.

well the cfr wasn't there to check out (bummer) but i liked the telescoping
bars on the cf snopro and the the new 141" skid with floats and 1.5" lugs!
the LE camo graphics looked great also imo.
the cat rep. said you CAN get the boss seat on the cf snopro in canada also,
despite what the cat web site says(good news)

the new polaris assault looked killer aswell.

I thought the show was great and macdon was a great place to have it!
what a nice facility, hope they have it there again! thumbsup.png

polarisguy05

My BEST OF FOR THE SHOW

Polaris 550 SHift @ 6299.00 retail
Polaris 800 Dragon 121
Polaris Assault

Arctic Cat Crossfire SNo Pro with nascar steering pull up
Bear cat what a sled, looked like it would out pull a diesel truck

Energeezer
Yammi had the same sleds as last year for the most part with some different track length options and suspension tweaks so not much to see.
Doo had the e-tec and 1200 4 stroke so plenty to see there but who the hell believes the hype on these motors? I lifted the front of the 1200 and it seemed to weigh about half of my Apex.
Polaris. Are you kidding me. The 800 CFI - nice to see but a little late when you look at the competition. Some nice suspension and shock tweaks but what I noticed most about Polaris is that they had as many if not more quads and bikes on display as sleds. Ok Ok we get the message. Quads and bikes first and then sleds if space permits LOL. Maybe thats the reason there seemed to be less people in the Polaris area. They brought the wrong equipment and forgot to advertise that this was a bike/ATV show.

Cat had the most to offer if you ask me. The Z1 Turbo was the big draw of the entire show IMO. Like all cats it looked a little rough around the edges but it will be a killer. Huge 4 stroke power in a chassis that handles great and sucks up the bumps. If its reliable it will be nite nite for the other 3 MFRs next year as far as the stock performance crowd goes.
Telescopic steering looks nice but then again --- does it break?

All in all a good show and a nice way to kill an hour on a Sunday afternoon.
lakercr
Somebody has got to be putting down the $$ for the new Cat turbo, no?? We need to talk, lots of free HP there...
Energeezer
Ah to have the cash.
I wish and i dream but the only way I could afford my Apex was to buy a leftover south of the border.
Something is telling me that the same deals will not be around this summer.
Hey lakercr--I don't think its gonna threaten your Yammi in the speed dept. LOL
Oh Canada
I got there early and left early. I was very dissappointed that there wasn't the xfire R there. I was impressed with the turbo and it almost won me over. The xfire snopro they had there was as hard as a rock and hated the free play in the handle bars. Hopefully that was just an oversite with that sled. I personally didn't care for the camo look and much preferred the le look of the turbo.
I liked the look of the new 800 dragon and really liked the seat compared to the 07 seat.
I was rushed when I got there, and then was crusty through the whole show when I saw that cat had no R there. Oh well. Talked with some good internet guys and loved the new location. Much better place to hold it IMO.

What to do now.............................any suggestions lol

POLARIS 800 late!late for what??the 800 games are just getting started!remember cat just got into the 800 game in 06!I seen only a couple ATV's and 2 bikes in the polaris booth and a good 10 sleds,so you must have gone to the wrong show energeezer!yamaha also had a quad and cat had some also plus doo had the spyder so really everyone was pushing more than sleds!

ANYWAY!from my view everyone had a good looking line up and wow was the doo section ever busy, when we were there all displays were very busy!I heard the polaris guy say he was amazed at what a good turn out they were having this year!the yamaha display was probably the least busy when I was there for 2-3 hours!once the nytro posters were gone hardly anyone seemed to be in there, but to be fair everyone seemed busy and lots looking which is good for our sport no matter what brand you ride!It seems like cat is almost confused the direction they are going, the F series seems big and a lot of plastic as everyone else is trying to slim there sleds up,and although I have heard nothing but good about the crossfire and M series they look very dated!the turbo has a bit of a retro look with the black intake grills kind of a vintage free air look of the early 70's.the cross fire r seems like a transition sled ,I am guessing something big is coming and cat is using this to keep its firecat guys who don't like the f series.

To me DOO is bar far the industry leader with another great showing of there sled buiding talent!I would say polaris sleds impressed me the most as a polaris faithful!they have really got there shit together in a year or two after there big F up with the 900 and 700 fusions!the chassis was great but that motor over shadowed it and now it is really proving what a great riding and handling chassis it is!It may not be the best at anyone thing but it does everything very good which to me makes them the best all around sleds on the market today!

I think everyones sled looked good and regardless of my opinion or brand perference everyone should be happy with what there brand is offering for 09!

Ok
Maybe I just noticed more bikes, quads and 4X4s in the Polaris area. I have no real brand loyalty but I've never really been that fond of Polaris. Perhaps its because they had the best product throughout most of the 90s and I was riding Doo LOL. In retrospect I should have been on Poo at that time. Of course now the playing field is more level and in my opinion perhaps Polaris is playing a bit of catch up but this thread is not really about which sled MFR is best.
Anyway it was great to see the good turnout and for most of the day the parking lots were full.
I noticed something else this year that really surprised me. I won't mention which 2 brands but i did talk to a couple of the reps there with concerns over certain issues our group has had with thier sleds. Once they realized I knew what I was talking about they owned up to the issues and offered real world solutions rather than the old deny deny deny lines and Gee I've never heard of this before crap. I have to say that I was really impressed by this. Of course I already knew about the solutions from the internet forums. To actually hear a rep acknowlege the issues and admit the the MFR currently does not have a cost effective viable solution and then offer info on aftermarket solutions. This is progress and it blew me away.
There is hope.
Delgaty
Cat probably missed out on a ton of buyers for the XFR by not having in there. Not that there won't be buyers anyway but garaunteed there would be alot of guys taking off from work early on Monday to go snow check one if they did have one at the show. I'm still not convinced by the Z1 Turbo, looks nice and has more power than you can shake a stick at, but how much does it weigh? I heard it has about 177 HP correct?, and its gotta weight about 550 lbs AT LEAST. If I heard right the 1000 mill has been tweaked and now puts out about 175 HP and weighs about 470 lbs. I can see the XFR being king of the lake this year. Its basically the rebirth of the Firecat if you ask me, what alot of people wanted.

ANYBODY PICK UP WHAT THE SKIDOO DEALER IN WINNIPEG WAS HANDING OUT. THOSE BROCHURES SAYING IT IS CHEAPER TO BUY A SKIDOO IN CANADA THAN IN THE US. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THERE FIGURES, OTHER THAN IF YOU PAY $300.00 THEY WILL WARRANTY A US SLED SO THEY TOLD ANTEATER. Skidoo could save there dealers from losing sales to Canadians buying from the US and just sell them a little cheaper here to the Canadian dealers. I know why they are making such a brochure, but all we are asking for is some closer pricing compared to what a US customer would pay. So as you can see, to justify buying at home they add on a butch of un-justified fees, 1 yr warranty, it comes standard to a US customer, recall letter, last time I got mine free, canadians don't pay state sales tax, but we do pay GST+PST at home. JUST A BUNCH OF BS!!!!! here is the info
sjb
that dealer was doing the same thing at the boat show comparing us to canadian pricing. at the boat show they had a boat motor trailer with a big poster listing the price and saying it is cheaper in Canada. then if you looked closer the price applied to a boat outfitted different than the one the poster was taped to.

i really consider it unethical, the old hook line and sinker approach.

charging for a recall letter? if i am not mistaken riv will accept a letter from a dealer provided it is on company letterhead and the letter states they are a certified dealer.

Anyone see a 09 summit x with the blue and white paint. Might spring order one this week, but the blue looks pretty light in the pictures.
