My dad is on a NWMP/RCMP museum commity, the museum purchased 2 sleds, both 1970s-1980s Ski-doos (one olympic for sure) for like a dollar each, to put on display. My dad wants me to take out as much parts as i can from one of them, but keep it looking authentic. this will make it lighter to put in the tiny museum. Don't think the engine can come out, don't they show from the back? Will there be any thing to be aware of, or make things easier? What should i take out? Hood will be down, and possibly a person sitting on it. I thinks he plans on keeping the other one running to bomb around on. hehe
Does isopropyl do anything when put into an empty feul tank, as a solvent?

you cant really take anything out of an olympic and keep it looking like a complete sled, there just isnt enough pieces.
there not that heavy anyways

same goes for an elan? Does anyone know the skistance of both olympics, and elans? The only way to get it in is through the front door. Might have to tip on an angle.

24 inches center to center on the skis so you probably have 3 inches on either side beyond that so I'm guessing maybe 2 feet and 7 inches total.

oh, ok. With no skis, it will probably fit through the door nicely!
