My buddy just bought a 07 fst and only a the front part of the track is touching the ground. What do you have to do to make it lay flat on the ground? Im thinking its the limiter straps but if anybody else has any ideas on how to set it up properly they would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have any other info on how to make it better in anyway dont hesitate. You know bigger carbides, what size studs or any else you can think of.

I do not mean to hijack your thread and I look forward to someone answering this but...

I recently got an 07 iq cruiser with the m-10 and I have gotten stuck 5 times when all the other sleds get through...I even have studs added and the other sleds do not. If indeed these sleds are being shipped from the factory with a track set at very little contact...maybe this is the problem???

I had the m-10 on a 800 classic and it was awesome. Again I like the ride on this new sled but getting stuck is starting to freak me out and my buddies are tired up lugging me out???

Where are you getting stuck anyways? On trail, off trail? My buddy cant stand it without studs but loves the sled he gets through anything even off trail. He's 51 and rides like a wild man! He said it will get studded very soon. By the way he has the exact same sled as you.

I never ride off trail in the powder...If I got stuck there I could totally understand with this heavy cruiser.

This cruiser has studs and longer carbides. All 5 were on trail extreme sink holes with mud and slush...all other sleds were non studded and got through every time.

Could this also happen with rider position??? Maybe on this new sled I need to sit as far back as possible trying to get through this stuff. I have been riding with the handlebars all the way forward and tend to also lean forward for better visibility in these situations...so maybe the heavy front end and now light(er) rear is what is contributing to the spiked track spinning on top of the ice??? and diggin me down in a hole....now couple that with the fact maybe my track is not flat as the other user posted. I only have ridden mine 200 miles and always in big powder in VT so I have not been looking for track angle. It's up there now so I can't check.

I had a studded 97 ultra that would pull through anything...this cruiser is the best sled I have ever owned NOT COUNTING getting stuck???

Each time I get stuck I gotta hear about it later from the yammi crew that lugs me out.

He went through stuff like that this weekend and didnt have any problem like that. As far as rider positioning i dont think that would be the problem. Maybe when you see those kind of hazards just gun that thing.

The front track shock preload is too high. You need to lower the spring tension.

Thanks alot i'll tell him.

Thanks snowbeeler, My sled came set up the same way... the rear of the track is 1 1/4- 1 1/2 inches off the ground when its sitting on a flat surface... I'll crank the spring down a little softer... Will this help it turn any better? The front end seems to float around a lot...

Depends on where you sit, it could help, and it can't hurt. The back of the track will still be off the ground a bit after FTS preload reduction.

I sit on the seat.. tried sitting on the handlebars & it just wasn't very comfortable. tongue.png

I'll take a look at it when I get it back from the dealer... I decided that the seat wasn't very comfortable a couple weeks ago, so I went to flying off it, going down Flat Rock Road wide open..
3 busted ribs & a lacerated liver.. Gonna have to go slow when I ride my other sleds this weekend...
