do i mean xcr600 instead of xlt??? as far as bolting the top end on??? i was just saying that it came from a ultra and im preatty sure teh xlt shares the same bottom end. idk about the xcr 600.
ultra680
ivar is correct, The xcr600sp is the same bottom as the 96 ultra, not the xlt or the xcr600(xlt motor). The xlt motor is completely different. Price?

Yes the Xlt's and '95-'96 Xcr 600's were monoblock piston port motors.
The '96 Xcr 600sp, and '97-'98 Xcr 600's were case reed motors, same bottom as Ultra's.

I have often wondered of a xlt topend on an XCR (sp) case... just think, 6 CARBS!!! Or the way suggested above, NO CARBS!!! (no worries about jetting)

Where would you put the carbs if you somehow managed an "SP" (case reed) top end on to an XLT base (as suggested by the thread starter) One in the Center exhaust port and exhaust on the other two? Remove spark plug and make it an E tec? I guess you wouldn't have to worry about it long, as there would be no water pump in sight...

so it is a 800 big bore kit for an ultra?
bobflame
Do you have a ultra top end or a big bore ultra top end ? The ultras didn't come in 800.
