I bought a 02 800 xc edge polaris this past x-mas. I did my first radar run ( was allot of fun) My friend GAVE me a AAEN single pipe (Not installed yet )
My biggest question is this. I want to be able to scream from 0-80 on the lake, Plus run in a large variable of temps without overheat concerns. What would anyone su8ggest for next years setup as far as
Clutching
Piping
carb jetting
I dont need any genesis motor do i?
Thanks for the replies and advice

Speed costs money. I would go with the Genisis.

are you just into lake racing? or are you mostly trail rider? If your mostly a trail rider heres what I did.... a polaris 5411487 track its a 1 1/4" it was a snow cross track . add some 1325 woody at least 96 with woody dubble backer. I have 96 on my 800 it could use more but its fine for trail use not a ice raceing! gear it down get the final ratio do to around 1:75 area (23-41) I am running 24-41 it will still do over 100 mph . get the carbs set up correctly for your conditions, this is key because if you want it to hit hard the motor needs to be free meaning it revs up QUICK! you will need to do a little clutch work to keep your motor down around 7700~7800 rpm . start with 68g weights and a 165-310 primary spring. 800 like to be load down hard they have good TQ so use it!

Hello slp makes a great pipe and other go fast stuff for your sled but if you only want to scream from 0-80 leave it stock and drop 1 tooth on the top gear and it should work right now stock gear is 25 -41 so go to a 24-41 try that its the cheapest thing to do

0-80, stay with the stock pipe!
Two reasons:
1. Gearing is less expensive, and you won't have to change everything else such as jets etc... It won't hurt the engine
2. Loud pipes HURT the sport bigtime, especially if a loud pipped snowmobile wakes up a landowner who has given us permission to ride accross his land.
just my opinion

I have been hearing the same thing from friends about the gearing, I may try the AAEN pipe. It was a friends till he bought twin pipes. He said the pipe is actually quieter than stock pipe. Now I have heard it loses torque but gains horsepower. From what I have read having a lower toque and higher horsepower they say torque back is good? Or so I read it as torque back. saying it helps for shifting the clutches and maintaining speeds. I was told to go with 23/41 gearing and it would scream from 0-80.
P.s. Thanks for all the input

Torque is the only thing the 800 liberty has going for it...... Don't use an Aaen pipe!!! They rob that 800 of the only good thing it does... TORQUE. I've run Aaen pipes before and their single pipes save weight and that is all.
