I am getting really close to ordering the z1turbo le. The things that I'm afraid of are the weight(620lbs) reliability, and buying a $13,000 turd. Don't want to be the guy with a real expensive pos. I am between the 09' F1000sp and the Z1turbole. Any thoughts?

The 09'F1000 should rip and be super reliable with all the time it had on the snow. The turbo, I would think should be reliable. I am looking for opinions. Thanks guys.

I have bought two different mfg's sleds that were first year productions and they both had problems. I waited for the second year 08 Jag and I'm glad I did. It's a great sled. The second year seams to have the bugs worked out.

I ordered a Z1TURBO LE today.........if this thing is half as good as my firecat was, as far as reliability and speed , i'll be happy
prox600rider
in my magazine it says they got a chance to radar their Z1 Turbo test model and said there was some speeds over 110 MPH....
turbolxr
Supertrax magazine states that this will be the "speed king " for '09......time will tell.....i hope they're right.......

I am in the same boat as you.
This would be my first 4-stroke. I am a bit concerned about the weight....I ride solo a LOT.
I can lift both the front and back of a 2-stroke when I get stuck...not so sure I can throw 600lbs+ around. LOL.

I've considered both the F1000 and the Crossfire 1000 as my new sled but I'm pretty sure this Turbo Z1 will be very reliable and I've always said that when Cat came out with a real powerhouse 4-stroke that I would buy it.

Now is the time....I plan on putting my order in on the Z1turboLE next weekend. I'm psyched!!

..Did BMAcat treat u OK?

I guess I'll find out next weekend. Preliminary numbers were very high and they usually don't budge much.
I expect to get raped compared to elsewhere but will do my best to get a reasonable price.
As long as they are willing to talk a little..they will get my sale.

How bout yourself? I see you have one "soon"..... Are you spring ordering or are you waiting to see what happens at the start of next season? and who do you plan on purchasing from?
turbolxr
SnoNut, how much heavier will a turbo be compared to your ZR9?? I am also a bit concerned , its alot compared to an F7..i guess my off-trail episodes will be alot less.....but 177HP!!!!!!!!!! and 120ft/lbs!!!!!!!!!
Krom
If you come up near utica on your way to old forge, get ahold of the guys at sun and snow, they will probably save you over a grand

END OF NOV.. 1STWEEK IN DEC. Proof that, BM Acat staying in biz for 30+ year$ is for a good reason.
Lets See how the results stack up after the grass drag season. Alot of my industry insider, info from late engine /shock calibration testing in Alaska /Minn. say that the ONE that will sure be an over acheiver is the CF r-10000.,regardless of 09 Models/makes. For many NO avail e-start may be a deal breaker at that price point.BTW.
I see no great rush..no doubt in my mind that by the end of CY 08 , severe economic /recession pressures may a factor,in demand. Or,Not to mention, if forbid a Democrat is elected Pres. Better for the consumer w/ the $ to deal.

My zr900 / 1/2 fueled and full oiled/196 studs,and 9 in Shapers,mirrors,and a few AftMarket chassis /wheel acessories... 565+ lbs.

The TC Z-1 gotta be well over 600+ easy.Studs add +?

http://www.deerfieldsports.com/ DEERFIELD sports on RT 28 north is a class act,and a survivor dealer.@ My Buds picked up 2 Bnew apex Attaks last fall for the best OTD $ anywhere in the snowbelt..+ 0% fin for one year.

http://www.snowcatcountry.com/ in westown, NY just south of Monticello , are another great place to be treated like a respected customer. I buy alot of parts there, and you will not find more Acat knowlegable crew , any where.

Go for the turbo z1 , will be much faster , no oil better fuel mileage.

If you go off trail, buy the long tracked 2 up and put a solo seat on it...it's what I'd get myself..

What Solo Seat would fit? Would the Normal Turbo Seat work?
turbolxr
The touring model has the removable passenger seat....and then you can adjust the drivers seat, just like a 128",and you cn use the backrest. To re-install the passenger seat, you have to put the drivers seat all the way back/down, remove the backrest and snap it down onto the rails.

I just placed a deposit on a spring release [black and copper] Z1 turbo// 177 hp and torgue that is above the old thundercat 1000 .. If they are as reliable as My sabercat is /was and no oil to lug on long trips I'll be happy. ladys-man.gif

ylsuper.gif My dad just traded his 07 F8 LXR in on an 09 Turbo LE!!! I can't wait to line my 08 F1000 Nightfire up against his turbo because my F1000 is a very good runner! It is going to be a long off season. cry.png

I am getting closer to my decision. I am leaning towards the Z1 turbo LE. Lot of money but god it should be awesome and fast. Turn up the boost, add nos and its go time. If this thing is a $12,500 turd I don't know what I'll do(mabye drive it off a cliff).

standard seat will work also...look much better IMO...Personally I would scrap the plastic & re-work the tunnel as well.

You might want to get another turbo also, lol, the f1000 may , may get the hole shot but than your toast. That turbo runs real good I was in shock after I rode it.

I know that the turbo is going to be fast (probably faster than my F1000) but my F1000 did 119 mph at the radar run that I took it to this winter and it is completely stock. I was driving by the radar run (on my sled) and saw it and decided to see what my F1000 had so I went down it and I hit 118.3 the first run and 119.2 the second run. It should be a pretty close race and if the turbo smokes my F1000 thats great but I think it will be pretty close between 0-100mph which is where my dad and I do 95% of our riding. beer_cheers.gif
