Today i ordered my new sled for next year. 09 1200 X Yellow and swapped out the track for an Ice Ripper 1.25. Having owned two previous 4 strokes i'm looking forward to next season.

Congrats Pete. I'm still in limbo about which one to get. The GSX 1200 or the Gade 1200. I'm really leaning on the GSX
though in black.
I'll let you know the outcome next week.

I spent my youth on Olympics, and after 20 years with Polaris, I'm coming home. Will be riding a new Renegade X 1200 new winter. Polaris has nothing to keep the flame lit. I feel they have lost their way. My 800 spent more time without a crank than it did on the snow. Can't wait for next year and the benefits of 4s technologie...

I went down to Song Mountain today and had a chance to ride the 1200 4-tec and was really impressed. Swapping back and forth with the Etec you can feel the weight difference but it's not as much as i would have thought. The engine pull was very much like my 800R but VERY SMOOTH......

Hope to gawd it handles better than the Nytro...

I never had the chance to ride the Nytro and it was near the top of my choices for next year. The one MAJOR reason i didn't get the Nytro was the smaller tank...Many have stated thats it's a non issue but i ride with SDI's and 800R's that get real good range with the 10.6 gal. tank and i didn't want to be the one looking for fuel...The 1200 i rode at the ski resort felt really nice and i'm sure they will have more tweaks before production. The Etec felt underpowered compared to the SDI i had last year..We had one a couple of weeks ago that we rode all day too or it may have been a serious consideration. An 800 Etec and i would have probably gone with that..but still stoked about the 4 stroke...I had a 04 Warrior and my wife the 05 Vector and swore i'd be back on a 4 stroke soon. We'll...soon is now.

That small tank in the Nytro is ridiculus. How was the power of the Ski-Doo? Vector, Nytro or Apex like? I'd like to ride one next year, not that I'll be giving up on Yamaha, but just to see...My Attak is definitly going to go over 10,000 miles before I get another sled!

Having been a few years since the Vector and Warrior i would say it felt like the Warrior...The power of the 1200 was SOOO smooth that and the powerband was thick just like the Warrior

I originally ordered a GSX Limited 1200 4 tech in Red but I changed it to a MXZ 1200 4 tech X pkg in black. I have an Apex and Nytro now so it will be fun riding the three of them next season.

I agree, it was disappointing to hear about the handling woes with the Nytro, but we know the blue camp made them work well with tweaking. The new geometry for the '09 Nytros is suppose to be much better to awesome. for '08, Yamaha tried to take the Sno-x version and throw it at the consumer, but found that the super tight steering for the track did not transpose well to the trail, hence the new set up. I seriously doubt the new ones will be reminissant (sp?) of the '08's.


Hope you like your sled, sure wish I was getting a new one.

Any word up your way as to when these sleds maybe delivered ?
I have heard nothing down this way and that's even asking the dealer.
Hope at least it's before the trails open so that I can get it studded etc.

I'm being told it could be here soon. My dealer is getting 12 sleds this week, a couple next week and another dozen the week after. My Ice Ripper track is at the dealer waiting for the sled.

Great choice! I think the all black XR chassis sleds will look awesome. I think the wider XR has a mean look to it and even though I have yet to see one in black I think it will be very sharp. The 05 Mach Z was suppose to look mean all black but to Me it looked like a fat frog. The XR chassis is what the Mach Z should have looked like.

My dealer received 1200's today...But no BLACK 1200 X's.....

It's getting harder to wait...My dealer has a white 800 X on the floor and 50th anniversary sled that is getting my attention

Lake affect snow the last two days and no 1200 X to ride in the field.....

I have my 1200 Gade X. Believe me, it's worth waiting for...

Called the dealer today and my 1200 black X is no were in sight. The trails open in less than two weeks

Wow you guys still don't have your sleds!!! my 1200x came in 2 weeks ago and i have a little over 250miles on it!!

Can you share with us how the first 250 miles was? Do you like it?
