Hi can you put PERC ELECTRONIC REVERSE on a 2002 800? Thanks

There is a kit for the 03. I have read posts that the 02 chain won't take it. Breaks somwthing. There are posts where people have done it on the 02. It wasn't designed to take the Perc, so do your homework and talk to those who have pulled it off.

The 02 chain and case is fine, its a hyvo chain. What breaks is the little 5/16 bolt that holds the bottom gear on, drill and tap to a 3/8 bolt.

Yes you can put perc on a 02.

You need cdi, wire harness off the cdi, det sensor, or send it hot seat to get rid of the det. Team clutch with a r helix, 18 degree flywheel, or try to advance your 14 degree 4 degrees by moving stator, a momentary contact switch, I use the electric start position on the key switch to do it. Det sensor mounts to the head, 02 doesn't have the boss.

I've done a couple 02's. I run slp heads with the boss. I may have a 04 stock head in my box of parts.

Go after a 04 prox/edge 800 cdi., has a great curve in it.

Watch Ebay for the kits, they come with everything but the fly wheel. I picked up a kit for my wifes 01 600 for under $250 with shipping, Had to modify the wiring some to get it to work but it was well worth the price.

What about guys talking about the need for a newer 03 oil pump ? The 02 pump doesnt like running backwards ?

The kit comes with a bi-directional oil pump also so I assume you need it along with a roller secondary and reverse helix if the machine the kit is for needs it.

Can the Perc kit be used on a 01 800 non ves?

I don't believe the 700 or 800 come with a oil pump, mine didn't for a '03 XC700. The '02 would need to go to an '03 or newer oil pump.

An 01 can take perc to, but the timing curve in the box might be a bit different. Still need the same stuff, reverse box, harness, switch,oil pump, flywheel or 4 degree advance key from bikeman, a reverse compatible clutch set up.
