Need help on what things are suppose to look likeq. The photos are from my 02 classic

The shop had pulled everything apart and replaced the driveshaft bearing, speed o key and everything had worked for about 50 miles and then the speedo bounced around, went to about 50 % and then just stopped working. Finally gotten the thing pulled apart to see what was causing the issue and am not sure what things are suppose to look like so I have three pictures attached.

The one below with the Key in the drive shaft, its how I found it when I pulled of the 90 degree speedometer (no fn idea what that thing is called)

One with the drive shaft with the hole visible. (should the hole be smooth as there are no ridges to match up with the key

One with the key on a piece of paper (is the bent piece part of the key). Realize I need a new one.

When you talk about a speed O key is it just the small piece of speed O cable (inch and a half Long) or is it the cable and the metal flange

When the flange goes into the end of the drive shaft do we pound it in, it won't take much, use lock tight or anything else to hold it in. (This was originally done at the dealership but there solution only worked for about 50 miles) and loosened itself off, 75 bucks as hour, lesson learned there

As always thanks for your help on this

That speedo key is fine its the insert thats your problem. That is suppose to press into the axle and is held in place by those splines. I would suggest buying a replacement from the dealer and just tapping it in place with a hammer and then putting it back together and your problem should be fixed assuming your axle isnt all messed up where that insert is installed!!
