Upgrading my front shocks on the phazer, found a deal on some shocks but they're 16.5" eye to eye vs. the stock 15". Will they work without trashing my front end? I don't want to let them get away if they'll work.

snirtrider

And when you ram them in the shorter eye to eye mount the shock will be sitting ih the dampen range already, not good!

Thanks kdub, weaponx that's what I was afraid of, just wanted to hear it from some experienced shock guys.

Thats a fact in gas charged shocks but I could be wrong with the air units I'll ask my buddy he specializes in race shocks such as air.

you are right you would that more preload if the sled was sitting at the exact same hight because the longer shock would have that 1.5 inches of air preload. shocks are very compicated guys and some thing can work and other dont, it takes alto of time and trying idfferent things to make shocks work perfectly and in situation like this even longer. as said in the 440 forum is not possilbe without the top mounting hole being relocated up. its just to much of a jump.

Didn't they make an internal spacer for the floats to be used on Revs? Something that reduced the eye to eye length by 1.5". I thought I read that somewhere. Anyhow I know that we are talking W/E air shocks here, but has anyone looked into the possibility of a product like this for the W/E?

i dont knwo if this is true but is not possilbe with the WE shock even if you wanted becasue if the design. WE air shocks have the oil mixed with the nitro, called a emulsion shock. its more of a hydrolic springs then an air spring but work better i think.
