I love mine but what do you expect out of it, its not a rev
it is not a gas and go sled because the dealers took the motors out under warrantee all were not done right
there are no major problems (low mile blow ups) but many small ones
If you dont buy it there is a growing market for low mile mach z's (getting hard to find) seen some over 10,000 miles on them
when they run right they really run, drive nice and are still the fastest stocker

The key to Mach happiness is a good dealer with a tech that knows the 1000 SDI. Since, these are not that common you have to do stuff yourself. But, its not that much really:

Get the injectors cleaned and tested once a year.
Get the E-Raves cleaned and set once a year.
Clean and check the clutches and put in new clutch springs if necessary once a year.
Check the Battery and replace if under 12.5 volts.

For extra safety:

Put on some uni-filters on the throttle bodies to keep belt crud out.
Move the low pressure fuel pump from under the motor to the right footwell.
Put on a fuel pressure guage.

Then, run good quality gas and semi-synthetic oil and BR8ECS plugs.

Run it hard, you will have very few issues.

Hey Gforce. I just bought one with a blown motor. Having it rebuilt from the crank out. But I don't want to do this again. Where can I get the uni-filters for the throttle bodies? Also heard that there is some slight mods to make on the air box to make them work. Can you, or does anyone have that info?

Thanks.

You can get the uni-filters from www.hiperf.com. You want the 4245 model.

All you need to do is pop the airbox in half by gently prying the tabs, then slide out the shelf inside. Getting the box in an around the filters takes some fiddling, but its not that difficult.

Cheers

Thanks. I ordered them today. Considering the Boysen Rage Cage too. Maybe I'll wait a bit on the big extras. grgrin.gif
