Thought I'd better start a separate topic, I was taking lots of pictures today. It was my first visit there, and I have nothing to compare it to from weeks or years in the past, but if today was anything like it gets, I can see why there is a big following. I did take some videos, too, which take a while to process, but I'll post some pics for now and if any HCS's want a video, PM me and I'll get something out to ya, just be patient.
The lake was in good shape up to the river/skip area, with a few interesting bumps that you could launch on and get a little air. On the way back, I saw the sheriff had hidden himself on the north side of the narrows just up from the big parking area, so keep the speeds down, at least in that area. I got there a little after 11:00 and it was already busy, and it kept getting more and more populated as the day progressed. Skipping was almost a constant. I'd wondered how they got the sleds out from when they got sunk, as I envisioned a lot deeper water. Lots of nice machines, and crazy people, too.
Some of the trails were OK, but most were really fried, I wouldn't recommend riding except for on the lake now.

nice to see some more race sleds out there but i would assume u guyes would wanna be racing hillx with them like i am. look like quite a bit of action, my buddy had my sled out there which was the black prox with 987 on the side. and i see a couple of my waterx buddies from ely were there also. might show next weekend depending if i decide to go to protage for racing or not. how much more open is it from last weekend?

It was a great time up there today. Had to laugh at the picture of my buddy standing in water up to his waist next to his mach Z. And at buhl rider next to his Polaris in a similar situation. Did you happen to get any shots of my sled? Its a mach z with Yellow stuff all over it.

I went thru the pics, but didn't see any of your Mach Z, I'll watch in the vids close for it. I left around 3:30, was he on before then? The sleds just kept coming, and if I knew which ones to look out for, maybe I'll try to get some sled numbers and/or descriptions. I saw last week's post saying they wanted some pics, but I haven't seen 'em. I'll be up next Saturday the way it looks right now.

Click to view attachmentMy sled looks like the mach z in this picture. except it has a yellow tank cover and belly pan. I have a video I took with my camera but I have to figure out how to burn it onto a dvd from the tape and then put it online here. We will be back there next weekend too. see you all there.
My mach is the one in the middle in this picture I posted. We were there all day and you were standing next to us for a good part of the time (across the water from most of the other people)

hell yeah we will be. its been going on for a solid 3 weekends now. should go for another 3. its on lake vermillion. go past the Vermillion Club to the end of the road, which is moccassin point. unload there, follow the sleds out. its a 2 mile ride. get there at 1130-12 and you'll have a blast. goes on until 6ish.

We will be going up again. If you want to meet near virginia you can follow us to the spot. If you can find your own way to the landing all you have to do is ask some one there and you could probably follow them out to the skips. Its a pretty short ride on the ice to the river. If you plan on skipping bring a dry change of clothes and some sun glasses. It gets hard to see when the water is splashing in your eyes. You dont have to worry about getting your sled out if you sink as there are alot of people there with 4 wheelers to winch you out. I will have mine there. I am going to be wearing my waders this time it kinda takes away from the enjoyment when your boots are soggy.

The turn is at the Y-Store, 3 miles west of Tower.
If ppl can't find it, they just need to ask how to get to Mocassin Point on Lake Vermillion, from there just follow the traffic.

I will be out this Saturday. The water there is getting close to 2006 standards. I would like to meet other HCS'ers and do some ripping. I will be on the mod 700 xcsp, black and red, the one in my avatar. Lets hook up and have a beer. If anyone is interested we will be partying at the bay Saturday night, 14 of us got rooms and are looking to rip it up. Give me some descriptions of your rides and we can say hey, or if you see me come say hi.

You have to be kidding me... too heavy? I ran my machz triple across all day with a less than 3/4 inch lug track. that kitty cat should have enough hp to over come the weight! bring it up the more the merrier! plus a t-cat sunk with my mach flying by it would look great on my video!!!!
