My buddy had a 99 670ho summit and was hard too beat in 660' when set up right he was beating the 2 mach 700,800 tripples and 98 700 polaris's, 700 mxz's, there were some others that I don't know of and he did lose his fair share too

My buddy used to have a 98 mxz 670 with a hacksaw track and 48 studs. It would take his brothers 01 mxz 800.

Who cares!... theres no s-2000 forum and zx is damn near.

With my 98 summit x i was beating everybody off the line from 440 sno-cross sleds to long track rx-1s. ... it was clutched to engage at a retarted 5500 rpm

I have 98 formula 670 with 13 thou on the motor and it holds it own against 600s and most 7s... however its got a wimpy track out back.

All depends how ya use em and how they're set up.........agreed the 670 is a kick ass motor especially because it responds well the mods.

I will say, a 670 HO will not beat a 600 triple.

Believe it or not, I would beat by buddies 98 Yamaha SRX 700 with 144 picks about 70% of the time out of the whole for the first 700 feet. And that was with my 96 MXZ 583 completely stock and no pics. It would drive him insane that he couldn't beat me out of the hole. Now granted after the first 700 feet or so he would smoke me but it still felt nice to drive him crazy for the first 700 feet or so. I can only imagine what my 99 MXZ 670 HO would do. We haven't raced those yet together.

I beat a 2005 Rev 600 and ran ski tip to ski tip with an crossfire 700. The 600 I left after 80, the 700 I left after 95. All were rolling starts from about 35MPH. The unfair advantage is that I have 96 studs. But then again they both have inch and a quarter tracks and more HP. Moral of the story is I still was able to pull them on top end.

'98 SRX 700's weren't setup worth a crap from the factory.

My bro used to have a '99 MXZ 670HO. I only rode it a few times but that was a damn fast sled and nice all around.

A 670Ho is a very hard running sled. f7's normally have issues with 670HO's.

Not many sleds run with f7's stock for stock on snow, but I have seen a few 670HO's do it and surprise the shit out the the guys. Just saying they are pretty quick and fast for damn near being a decade old.

I agree, there were a couple in our area that ran on grass for several years, very strong sleds, those rotary valves sure did have power down low and a very strong midrange hit.

The year the 670HO's came out, they cleaned up pon grass in every class.
Funny, but true story, the local grass drag racer (also a cat dealer) complained to me that the HO should not be allowed to run stock as it was a polished motor.
I understood his point that the castings were 'improved' over most stock sleds, but hey it did come out of the box that way. Fact was, it was next to impossible to beat in the stock class, even the 800's were only competative with it.
The reason he was complaining to me, was I ran a sanctioned grass drag event (COSDRA) for couple of years in our local town.

It's crazy because I am a Polaris man and I ride with alot of Polaris and Arctic cats. So I bought a little "girls sled" as a back up last year a 98 formula Z. We all joked and laughed because none of us ar Ski-doo fans at all. I just bought it because it was incredible clean and a great deal.
The joke ended up being on us, never raced anybody out of the hole, but from 35mph and up the little purple people eater was beating everything LOL.
