Just letting you guys know I just spoke with one the local riders up there and snow conditions are awesome. We rode with him last year and had nothing but an awesome experience. We are going up on Friday March 28 and returning Sunday night. 2 days of pure satisfaction. He says we will make our way towards Wabowden on Saturday and more than likely steak dinner at Paint Lake marina that evening. Hopefully lots of play time too. Can't wait! I had never been there until last year and more than likely will make this an annual event. Well worth the drive.

I'll probably be heading up there in the next 2 weeks to get in some end of season fun.

I don't know about down south, but here in Thompson the snow's gonna be here till end of May. It's gonna take alot of sun to melt this shit load!!!

I also got a call from my friend last night in Thompson. He said if he's standing on his sidewalk you can't see his head over the snowbanks! 4-5' and still falling, with about 3' on the lake.

Heading out tomorrow on the same trip with a buddy coming up from Brandon. He is staying at Setting Lake and is going to meet us at Paint Lake for breakfast. We are going to play around the lake for awhile then head towards Wabowden for lunch. Then back to Paint, possibly for supper, Saturdays are rib and steak night. Haven't been riding much this year because i have been working lots but plan on putting on the miles this Saturday, Sunday and maybe next week also. The guy you know wouldn't happen to be Cliff Hibbs would it?

No kidding. Went fishing this weekend to a couple remote lakes. I've never in all my life seen so much snow on the wide open lake. Over 3ft! Trying to get setup for ice fishing was a chore. Had to shovel a lot of snow. Usually we drill about 10 to 15 holes....we only had enough energy to drill 3. grinning-smiley-023.gif

The machines were getting stuck right in the middle of the lake, because the snow had been undisturbed until that point.

Wow, great pics of the snow on the lake. I've only come across that kind of snow out on a wide open lake once before. On Lake Wpg near Pine Dock we rode the lake to Matheson Island and across to Bloodvein on the east side and they must've just had 35-40cm of fresh snow because it was just like your picture, we were barely making it through. Gotta love when you're riding in those kind of conditions, nice and easy on the suspension, hard on the motor. biggrin.gif

I wish I still lived there.
