Any chance there's still decent riding in these areas? I assume they're getting new snow from this storm but was there any base prior to this snow???

Looking to head out today, if there's some riding in those areas. Any info would be great!!!

Thanks,

I just drove through tomah yesterday and there was just a couple spots near tree lines left. The ground is soft it was 47 yesterday there. Also most trailes close in mid march. Your best bet if you have to ride would be Iron county. (Hurley area)

I don't know where you guys get that trails close in mid march. They officially close on march 31 at 12 am.

Try this www.awsc.org and look up clubs by county. You can then call the county and see if they are open or not.

I've seen quite a few signs near Black River Falls and Milston area that say closed Mar 15- May 15, and from Oct 15 - Dec 15.
I have a pic a one, but not here at work.

Jackson Cty closes like that for there ATV traffic. Two months in the spring for the thaw and two months in the fall for clean and prep for snowmobiles. Your trails can be open all year if you have snow but your ctys contract with the DNR states Dec 1 thru March 31 is the min that they have to be available to be open.

whatever, you asked for information indicating where we were getting our info on mid March closing of trails and that is what you got. Typically they allow riding of the trails that weekend if conditions permit..this year was different. ATV's could still ride that weekend.

I was asking where you were getting that southern wi trails closed on the 15th. I know that alot of the countys closed there trails early this month due to poor conditions not based on a calender date.

I rode Friday night and the trails were good. They are gone again now but that night was fun.
