rode today from kenyons in waitsfield 17w to 100a north to 2 east to east montpelier then 12/14 south to south barre then by the granite quarry and to williamstown then 12 west to northfield and then back to waitsfield via 17. lower snow conditions in southern areas but only in town as soon as i got back into woods it was pretty good.there is still an extremely good base some areas were rough (base was rough) and others were terrific like they had been groomed before weather.further north and any higher elevations seemed to have gotten more of a mix than rain. all in all a good day. heres a few pics from the ride

So would you recommend riding in the area vs the hassle of trailering 90 minutes from the valley to ride the NEK? I was going to go to the NEK last weekend but road local Friday, Saturday and Sunday and had 3 of my top 5 rides of the year!! I'd rather save NEK for next Friday if I could..

if your not looking to go all the way to nek i iwould say that the riding is pretty good in this area there were a couple of trails in barre area that were a little rough but for the most part everywhere else was pretty good.as a note there were some low hanging trees from williamstown to northfield?maybe it was from northfield to waitsfield. heck who cares i put 150+ miles on in late march.

thanks for the heads up. Did a quick ride after work tonight and the trails were mint. The low lying branches in the high elevations did suck but everything else was mint midwinter conditions...
