Isn't it wonderful that we are supposed to get cold and WJAC is calling for a couple of inches tonight, several inches over the weekend and a possible storm next Monday.. The snow Friday night and Saturday is looking, according to WJAC, like that clipper we had a couple of weeks ago that dropped around 8"...

Don't know why I even posted this since probably nobody will see this until this fall. This year was very depressing.. Hell, I got close to 1000 miles and out of those miles 800 were up north.. trau14.gif

make sure you post if theres enough snow to come up and play on the dragstrip a little at least.

Good pretty good here Snofish, I love that Crossfire. It is everything I could have hoped for and more.. It took a little work to get it to corner flat and still needs a little tweaking but we didn't have the snow to really get it dialed in. I think we might get one more as well. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass.. getting a good bit of snow the last week of the season! Well here to a good safe summer to everyone! hopefully we are all healthy and have the finances to do it again next winter and pray for the South East Ridge and La Nina to go away next winter!

I was watching the weather too and they are saying snow possible Saturday. But doubtful!! I also keep hearing one more big one!! Sleds are still on the trailer if the big one does come. Need to change a ski though cussing.gif Pretty good year here myself, had to travel to get some riding in, but it was nice seeing new territory!! Like you said dvarmit, hope we are healthy and have enough money to pay for $4 a gallon of gas!! dohdoh.gif

Tell me about the gas $4.00 a gallon is going to be tough.. it was tough this year at $3.25 per gallon running two sleds at full bore for 2-3 days at camp.. We get pretty good snow down here in the Laurel Highlands although the ground is pretty warm and if there actually would be snow there would be some bare spots and a lot of water with all the rain we had.. We would have to get over a foot I would guess before it would cover some of the minnie rivers across the trails down here.. Why did I start this thread.. it's depressing and oh, my sleds are put away yet either wink.gif almost but not yet..

Here's to another one coming to an end. Certainly was a challenging winter as far as snowfall, but I did okay other than having to drive 2 hrs plus in any one direction to get my riding in! Met some great people here this season and I want to personally thank everyone that I was fortunate enough to ride with for the new friendships. I hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable summer and we will meet up here soon enough next fall! I'll be getting the knee in shape and saving fuel money in preparation for 08'/09'! summer_sucks.gif

Hey Viper, have a good summer and hope you get that knee all fixed up.

Winter looked to be starting off the best in years. I was riding in OF on Dec 5 on great conditions and Potter by mid Dec. Then the rains came.... and never really left. Storm after storm of rain and ice. Around here winter really sucked... a total of 15" of snow. We had more than that last March alone. Never even got to ride Michaux! DCL and LH were way down on snow too! That had to be tough Varmit living right at LH and having a new sled and no snow. I'm glad I registered in NY, I was able to get some miles in up there. Here's to hoping for one more ride the next couple days even if I have to go back to NY.

Next year we'll have to try a little better to get everyone together for a HCS ride.

It was pretty rough being ten minutes from the trail and no snow and new sled! trau14.gif The crazy part of this entire winter is that the LH got about 1" last night, they are calling for 3-6 from this clipper and maybe a big storm next week! head_hurts.gif All I read on the weather forums are that this is the best winter setup we have had since December.

At one point I was really wishing I would have got a permit for NY but it is just to far of a drive... the closet for me is about 4 hours one way.. If I was closer say around 2 hours I would get one in a heart beat..

It would be nice to get some decent snows and have a LH HCS'er ride next year! I am on board and I am sure Jerry from VA would pop up wink.gif

We've got one more winter to get through till she finishes up. She DOES have a paid 12 week externship this summer so that will help a little. I imagine diesel will be over $5 a gallon till next winter so i'm hoping for a lot of local snow!

That's pretty crazy! I think you might get one last little ride in if your lucky. I was wishing for that last "local snow", but it just didn't happen. Wanted to get my daughter out for a little ride since she has a helmet and suit now. I guess anything could happen and the sleds are still ready.......wishful thinking!

Hey Vip, how is your Yammi... uhh I mean you knee? What ended up happening with that? Tear something?
dvarmit
One more thing Viper, according to the forums on accuweather you may get that last snow next Monday or Tuesday...
oldtimer
You guys should make a drive up here to Mid NH and Mid Maine...we have 40" on the ground right as I type this, and grooming is ongoing...Still very easy to get stuck off trail...the rail bed is showing NO rails and the bridges are all under at least 2' of packed snow...

The Yamaha was tougher than the knee! I owe her a seat cover ($200+!) as that got scuffed up and a wee little crack in the very rear corner of the hood that I think can be fixed and touched up without hardly ever noticing it. Just cosmetic stuff and it certainly could have been FAR worse. It could have been MY SLED!

I find out more about the knee this afternoon. I'll update with the findings.

Hey, I'll take a little white stuff on monday!

Well here ya go right in the nuts:

QUOTE
Winter storm watch in effect from Friday evening through saturday afternoon,
The NWS in state college has issued a winter storm watch, which is in effect from Friday evening through saturday afternoon.
An alberta clipper will move in from the west late in the day on friday. Snow will likely begin late on Friday and last into saturday afternoon. This storm has the possibility to produce over 6 inches of fluffy snow in the laurel mountains, near somerset and johnstown.
Some rain may mix in with the snow during the day on saturday, and could reduce snow totals, especially close to the maryland border. Also, the storm could move faster and end the snow sooner than anticipated, and reduce snow totals.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow or ice accumulation that may impact travel. The exact path of this storm system is uncertain. However, if heavy snow or ice becomes imminent, a winter storm warning will be issued.

If I knew there would be snow on the ground in MI that was ridable next Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sunday I would be outta here.. I am trapped working this entire holiday.. rebuilding servers... I have about had it with work..

Speaking of BigBizz how is he doing? I haven't seen him post lately.

I had just been past sb elliott on my way home from visiting friends, and there is snow in the woods but the trails are bare from what I can see from the road.

Hi Guys,
My grass is green and growing down here already. Boo Hiss. A couple bass fisherman out in the river were eyeing me strangely as I adjusted my track the other night on the trailer. I refuse to pull the SeaDoos out of the garage yet. I hope to ride somewhere. New York is still going strong and they are calling for on/off snow through saturday.

IF the season is over, I must say it's been fun. I met so many nice people in PA that I can't wait for next year. I would love to buy a place up there to hang out in the winter if I could afford it.

IF the season is over, I may as well include a "riding into the sunset" shot from 3 weeks ago in LH. I was doing about 35 mph so the picture isn't that great but you still get the idea bye.gif

Jerry

nice one Jerry, keep um coming, till next year,at least. Oh I was told erie got 8 in on sat. Ive got the FLU, so all I can do is dream. I think Im going to put um away for the summer this weekend, and get the bassboat ready.

Jerry if you got the time head to NY - It was great this past weekend in Speculator. Lakes are frozen solid and there is about 3 feet of snow in the woods.

THANKS for the encouragement Trail_Time. Is that pic from this past weekend? I have a friend who rides Speculator all the time. I still haven't been there. Maybe in a few days !!

Hey Jim,
I still need to cut you a DVD of our last ride. I'll also make sure they save you some rock fish too in case you want to come down here and splash your boat!
Talk to you soon.

That was Saturday afternoon. No dirt.. no rocks. All snow! It was bumpy in a couple areas, not sure if the groomer is done for the year or not?
