See if you can recognize them...

I rode around the NEK yesterday and it was terribly rough. I didnt see many sleds so I think most were gone home. I gassed up in IP at the Irving and realized the pump did not automatically click off after it went all over my seat. russian_roulette.gif When I got out of IP, I met Orleans and Newport Centers groomer. I had a HUGE water hole to skip across. I hung out at my gfs house in Troy, saw two groomers go by and when I left that night for Derby I met another Country Riders groomer. I was so happy to meet the groomers after the bumpy ride I had all day.

Saturday when I rode, we went west of derby and it was MINT all day. Thumbs up to Hazens Notch, Mountaineers, and Country Riders for some awesome trails! I ended up on a "Closed Trail" (dont tell anyone) that went over Richford Mountain. The ice was still on the trees.

All in all, it was a good weekend for riding.

Today, I had the our operators double Town Trails and 5 South to Orleans. I snapped a few pics of them.

Did that water bar ever freeze this season?

Bedlam Bikes
Rode the NEK from Lyndonville Sunday and today (Monday). The ONLY groomed trails we found today were the ones in Burke. Great job Burke!!!

Everything froze up solid Sunday night and nothing else was grromed. From Sundays warm temps the trails were BRUTAL today.

Where is that giant water hole? Thats one hole I wouldn't want to even attempt if there were any other way around it.

It was frozen. Its right near my house in coventry i had to limp my sled back at 30 miles an hour through there when a huge chunk of my track went flying off on Derby pond at around a 100 miles an hour.

Sure is. Went across it late friday night, and I actually thought it was a open field. Its nothing like most of the other choppy ice in the area.
one ton fun
How will the trail be this weekend? I am hoping to make it up for one last ride.

Good eye there Gader. I'm fond of the Groomer in front of the Border Motel in the evening sun.

Question though: Is it true that massive open water bar was considered as a site for the "You Shall Not Pass!" scene from Lord of the Rings?

Bedlam, the Lyndon Groomer is experiencing electrical technical issues waiting on Prinoth to service tomorrow or so. Sorry you had such a rough time -usually in top form. You must be up for the whole week so I'll try to keep on top of it for you.

Judging from your pics Gader, I'm surprised to see you don't have much more snow than we do down here in Randolph. I haven't seen a cornstalk since deer season down here!

It seems to have been like that all winter, just west of OS71, the snow peters out, and the 105A trail had even less on it, especially the fields. No orographic lift there I guess.
one ton fun
There is still a ton of snow here in Randolph. I have noticed that they havent groomed once this week though. I hope they aren't done for the season. Judging by how much snow we have and next weeks temperatures, we could ride for atleast 2 more week in randolph.
