Hello, everyone

I am fortunate to live in about 1 and 1/2 hours from OLD FORGE NY where Yamaha held DEMO RIDES this weekend...
YES the XTX and SE NYTRO WERE THERE AND YES I RODE THEM BOTH

I will give you as much info as I can remember. If you have any other questions, I will answer them after I see them in the reply.

I have never riden any of the nytro's previous to today. I currently ride a monoshock '05 rx-1 that I thought was good.

The conditions were poor at best lots of snowbase, but temps reaching 50 degrees made many trails very slushy and a few trails had ridicoulous stutter bumps lastings 2 or 3 miles. Arctic Cat's F SERIES were all over the place in the ass end (no studs) because of conditions
I say this because NONE of the yamaha's had studs. And only the apex was a squirrelly in the rear (as it always was).

THE XTX is the best fricken sled I have ever ridden period end of sentence. I have never felt so comfortable on a sled before. I usually slow down when I see moguls/bumps because I physically cannot take the abuse. NOT in this sled it feels like a high priced luxury car (super fast but still gives you that "cadillac" cloud riding feeling) Over the nasty non-stop stutters I sat down and still felt no uncomfortable ass bouncing around. Also the handlebars with the new front end upgrades also don't transmit the shocks to your arms (you know when you just feel like you can't hold on anymore). The only time my arms got a workout was when You FLOOR THE THROTTLE The longtrack instantly grabs (w/o studs) and rips your arms back as you struggle to stay on. I could only imagine studs and clutching on this beast. The trails that allowed me to FLOOR IT were 6 or more inches of nasty wet slush and it still hooked up suprisingly well. I would still want to stud mine. I never understood bridging a bump until today. It doesn't feel anywhere as long or as heavy (of course) as my rx-1. The only thing was that I found myself entering bumpy corners so fast that the longer rear end kind of pushes you towards the trees (off the course) I believe a better aftermarket carbide and ski would fix that. Long tracks do that alot as I was told.

THE SE My buddy LIVES for nasty moguls and was really impressed by the SE. He is the type of guy who will send out his shocks to have them re-valved 2 or 3 times higher because he bottoms out riding so hard. His first ride he felt the SE was too stiff (215 miles on the odometer) but by the last ride of the day, the Yamaha guys let him turn down the dials on the front shocks and then he said it was spot on perfect. The Yamaha representative literally told us that they had just recieved the shocks and bolted them on before the show. The air pressure is @ 90 p.s.i. stock (too high).

I also rode the prototype XTX which had 2,500 miles on it. I could only imagine the Yamaha factory racers that got to test/ride this before the public got to. I felt the demo was a little unrefined compared the XTX that they had that was closer to the actual one we would get to buy.

The yamaha reps told us that the engines and clutches were as they will ship in the fall. But the shocks and calibrations will be changed if needed. Like they told me, the sleds are only going to be better when they release them in the fall.

Colors of course you know from the website, however the seat on the white XTX has a cool pattern to the grey/silver portion of the seat. It looks like a tougher material that maybe will be more resilient to wear and tear.

I am not an expert by any means. I hope that I helped anyone reading this that hasn't had the chance to ride the 2009's. The hype and reviews on Yamaha.com about the XTX are 100% true. Which is rare.

As an added note I would ride any sled by any manufacturer, But the 2009 yamaha's are really the best.
I rode the 4 stroke 1200 skidoo and hated it (I had a rev before and loved it) I believe the suspension was not adjusted right as the tech guys told us. the motor is smooth TOO SMOOTH I like to be scared a little when I floor it. On the skidoo 1200 I gradually builds speed with an even powerband, It would never rip your arms back (something I like) Kind of like a car with a really good automatic transmission it just goes with you feeling it change gears. Not to trash the doo's though sorry

I thought I was a member here before but it was another sled site.
I was looking forward to riding the Polaris' especially this blue turbo they had I believe It was an IQ. (I don't know much about the polaris')

A friend just called me and talked for over an hour. He rode all the Yamahas @ Tug also. He knows I am thinking about the XTX but can not justify it without a ride. He said exactly the same thing. He said the Nytros were sit down over the bumps he usually has to stand, and handled better than anything he has ever rode. He also could not believe the acceleration un studded. He did say the FX and XTX rode better than the RTX. He said the RTX was stiff. But thats for "snowcross guys". He made my mind up. Im going to order the XTX. Plus a 4 year warantee..... He has a Rage, and a F7. But has ownes and rode just about everything. I expect he wil post somewhere in more detail.

the only question that still hasn't been answered is:

will the XTX stay 'stride for stride' with the RTX SE to 80-100mph

TY rider reveiws and all video's say " surpising it stays with the SE " BUT NO ONE CONFIRMED TO WHAT DISTANCE OR TO WHAT MPH

I can't be the only one that's wanting to know the real info here. whoever has lined these sleds up together, please post your accurate findings - thanks
