Went north on it Wed Morn. had been groomed probably Tues. a little choppy but not bad at all. Came home on it tonight going south still not bad compared to what its been most of the season, will be hammered by Sat if not done again. This is my reguilar route out from home to go north and its about as good as its been since the private contractor took it over, it seems like he has been grooming it Tues & Thurs.

Why doesn't it get groomed more than twice a week. That is prob one of the most busiest trails and it only gets groomed twice a week???

The club that had been taking care of this section of trail, American Thunder Riders, has disbanded. VAST has been having trouble coming up with a solution for this season. The surrounding clubs had tried to help out, but VAST hired a "contractor" to run the groomer that VAST already owned in stead. This is not working out as well as had been hoped and as a result the trail is not being groomed as often it should be. They are trying, but have been plagued with mechanical breakdowns and vandalizm. It is the hope of EVERYONE that by next season this situation will be taken care of.

The county clubs have a plan and would like to see it implemented come fall.

Tried to go up 102 yesterday, was SOOOOOOO bad I turned around after about 1 mile.
My buddy was talking to someone from the Lunenburg club yesterday and they are VERY hopeful that they will take over this section for next year, I hope he is right, Lunenburg's trails are VERY nicely maintained!!!!!

That is the CT Valley Snow Riders right? EVERYWHERE I went yesterday, the trails were beat (East of Derby).

Depends, as has been stated before, CVSR grooms 102 between Stone Dam (VT Hwy 105) and EX40 (TAPS sign on tree). EX40 is at the foot of Madison Brook which is near the north end of the 1 Trail. The operator selected by the VAST Board of Directors grooms 102 south of EX40 past the closed end of the 1 Trail to the "Balls" and a portion of the pipeline. Hopefully, the Polar Bears will take over that PB200 next season.

As a side note, the CVSR groomer was out Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights grooming. Unfortunately, the trails turned to mush before noon due to the warm weather and heavy traffic. Those conditions were true of the trails we traveled north and northeast of the Stone Dam on Saturday.

I rode Brighton and Cannan trails yesterday and they held up well. Stay off 114, take any of the A or B trails. Trail 111 is always better than 114 or 105. Derby looked awful thin to me when I drove home...and I wouldn't have ridden across Derby Pond with stolen sled!

Riding into Canaan village is tough....and very muddy.
