I have businees in Ludlow Vermont on 3/28, and I am a big sledder in PA, and travel to NY often to ride.......I was wondering typically how long riding last in VT??? How do I go about finding out if I should drag my sleds and girlfriend with me?? Is there locations that hold the snow typically that late in March?? Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated

Your best bet that time of the season is the NORTH EAST KINGDOM area. Ie ISLAND POND,DERBY,NORTON,Canaan area.

Groton State Forest always has snow well into april, you could easily do 50 to 100 mile loops, hers a pic from last year last day of season plus it's a couple hrs south, however i would agree there probably more miles to do in the NEK, but i would do it if i was you they now sell a 5 day pass ,and unless theres rain there rideing to be had well into april

This year has been a banner year in the NEK and trails have been packed well that will last into April. Rode last Saturday from Lyndon to East Haven and over hill to Island Pond and back on 114 through Newark down to Burke and back to Lyndon. All trails were in great shape and it was a beautiful ride (most places had 3-5 ft snow off trial.

Rain Saturday night really didn't do as much damage as thought as it passed right through the snow and trials assessments have been very good. Our groomers have been out a couple of nights this week -the cold nights are certainly helping to keep everything in place.

I would recommend when you get closer to your travel time to check with local clubs but you should be good to go.

I have a home in Ludlow and last year with trailered up to Groton(1 hour north exit 17 off of RT. 91)in late March and trails were still mint when there was no snow in Ludlow..That's your best bet..

As it looks right now should not be a problem to ride Until mid to late April anyways. We may get some warm weather that stops the riding from in town areas but should be able to trailer to higher elev areas for quite a while longer.
