How do I stop the crankshaft from turning while taking the clutch off? Want to change the clutch.

Channel Lock pliers, grab onto the flange by the bolt.

thanks, got it off and changed now. Thought it was going to be tighter. much appreciated for the help.

another trick that i like to use is taking out the spark plug and feeding rope in there. if you get the piston down then put in rope, then turn the crank what ever way you need till the rope compresses a bit then you are good to go.
works like a charm for me for the past 16 years.
