I picked up a 1973 SR643B and the gas cap on the plastic gas tank has broken off. It took off about a 1/3 of the sealing lip when the hinge broke. Is there anybody on this site that can repair this? or recommend a product to help? I did try JB Weld....didn't work.

I've repaired plastic gas tank leaks using a fiberglass repair kit. Depending on how it's broken you can likely build up the broken part on the tank and reshape and sand.

Have you tried to buy one? Ebay maybe? powersportspro.com has it on their "call us" list. Give 'em a call?
