your post generated too much carbon!!!!!! buttrock.gif

GREAT video! To bad that the sheep that follow the CO2 farse will be making decisions that effect us all!

Its awesome to see some different oppinions on that toppic. It gets pretty depressing when all everyone says is that all the snow will be gone in 20 years, and its just going to get worse from there. Even if its not totally true, it sure makes me feel a hell of a lot better.

unfortunately I don't have the time to watch the video in its entirety, but I did watch the first five minutes to get the jist of the message that there are certainly differing opinions out there regarding the validity of global warming. I'mnot sure if the video addresses the "oil issue" or not, but I do hope that both sides can come together to realize that we can't continue to solely operate on oil. There is not one study out there that says oil does not, in some way, impact the earth in a negative way. So, we need to be better about harnessing wind, water, and solar power to provide electricity and to also lessen our dependence on middle eastern and Saudi oil. Wind, water, and sunlight are natural, and if we Americans would only buy into these alternative fuel possibilities, we wouldn't be grabbing our ankles at the gas pumps!

just my 2 cents

Well, we differ in regards to this statement that you made in the paper, "I understand that energy costs are skyrocketing, and we all want an easy way out, but selling your soul to the devil is probably not the best route available." Personally I think we are CURRENTLY selling our soul to the middle eastern devil. My family has had a place in Vermont (Topsham) since 1971, and like you, I have grown to love this idyllic country side that has no match in the lower 48, and I admit that looking at wind turbines on top of a beautiful ridge is not as beautiful as the ridge itself. I think solar and water are the alternatives that need to be actively pursued first because of the reason you stated in your letter to the editor--wind turbines destroy the scenic nature of this unique state. We are slaves to oil, and this fact needs to change. Part of our current recession is due to this total dependence on foreign oil.

I think that it is terribly silly for us as a species to pretend that our rapidly growing population and equally growing consumption of resources and production of CO2, is having no affect on a planetary climate that is in part driven by levels of CO2. This planet has never before seen the likes of what we are doing to it, and continue to do to it at an alarming exponential rate. I for one look at global history and the very short history of humans on this planet and see a connection.

One Volcano eruption causes more CO2 emmisions than all human activity in years,.. no where near do we come in emmissions, and also, we will be out of fossil fuels in 20-30 years, so rejoice!! No more autos as we know, snowmobiles, planes etc,. the earth will clean itself up in a short amount of time after that! (good news huh)

Historically catastrophic climatic events have occurred due to enormous volcanic eruptions as well as other natural occurrences... and horrible things happened to the inhabitants of earth...

But this is the first time a species has had a directly negative effect on the climate of earth and the earth itself and subsequently we do have the direct ability to stop what we are doing...for the better of earth and ourselves.

I personally think most humans are too selfish and egocentric to stop what they are doing...and I am not leaving myself out of that pool considering I drive myself to work, have a snowmobile, motorcycle, and like to fly when I travel.

I am just stating what I believe to be true!

Because EVERYTHING we own, is pretty much petrolium based, (and I literally mean EVERYTHING) we will not see a transition to anything else in 'our' lifetimes,. unless your under 20 years old or thereabouts, because you wont have a choice unless your into horse and buggies in 30 years. But right now, even IF the technology existed, (some say it does and is being covered up) you wont see it change due to the worlds dependance on oil, and the economy from which it supports, the entire globes infrastructure would have to be re-tooled, and we all know it aint gonna happen. So, bottom line, get out and continue on with your life, enjoy the last few decades of this lifestyle as it will be gone sometime soon, your grandchildren will certainly NOT be able to live this well, and most of all, we need to stop worrying about things we cannot control nor change.

wait.....what?
cause al gore says co2 drives the climate, it means it must be true ?? ya lost me.

and exactly what connection is that?? just wondering.

Global Warming is a THEORY, not sure how so many people misinterpret this as FACT. The 'evidence' that all these scientists claim to find is laughable at best. They skew fact with lies and give out blatant misinformation and call it truth, scare tactics at its best if you ask me, yet the greenies and tree huggers soak this shit up like a coral sponge.

since humans have been around, the earth has been Much warmer than present at times, and also Much colder,...... and guess what, its still here grinning-smiley-023.gif
