Last week I posted looking for any tips on getting a bit more top end on a 500 SS..........0 replies. Come on guys, I'm a Polaris guy but I do all my friend wrenching and he's a Ski-doo rider and he is getting sick of watching my 7 year old XC SP 600, with 8000 miles, run away from him. Now I'm sure I'll get a reply, but seriously any help would be appreciated. The SS is a nice sled and pretty quick but not much on top.

Check his clutch setting on secondary ,spring position should be 6 on the helix and B on the shiv in order to check the letter setting you have to dissmantle clutch I have mine set at this setting its the most popular of settings he should get 80-85 mph thats pinned must remember his sled is fan cooled is it not?

WOW!!! I have a 2005 500SS and mine goes 105 bone stock. If you want to get a few more mph you could go with a wider belt ( 3-5 mm thicker ) or you could just swap out the gears. But my 500ss has no problem doing 105 down a trail.
