I have a 2008 REVXP 800. The engine light and temp. light keeps comming on. It's getting enough snow for cooling. It seems to do it more when it is very cold out. I was wondering if anyone is having the same issues?

I had this problem on an Arctic Cat...and turned out just to be a sensitive temp. sender. If I rode on hardpack for even a little while, the light would come on....even though I could grab on to the coolant resovour and it wasn't even hot to the touch, and the motor itself wasn't overly hot either.

Run it for a while than feel around the engine, hoses, and coolant bottle and see if it's actually hot or if you're just getting a bad signal.

A temp sender is a temp sender is a temp sender....they're all the same...in cars, boats, sleds...same little thing. You might just be unlucky and have a defective one like I had..

The temp guage on m 2007 800 was way up and the warning light continually flashing until I realized it was because I had cut the bottom three inches of my new snow flap (apparently a very common occurance). I put the old uncut but mangled one back on and .. presto ... no more overheating. A buddy with an '08 has a similar experience.
