Received the SMC alcohol kit last week and have had a chance to mess with it.
I know that I was on the edge of detonation and this solves the problem. Also,
I don't want to be out on the trail low on fuel without access to 100 octane.
93 is all I need to run.

Stock aircleaner and exhaust with 25psi boost. 7400rpms, 75 gram weights.
Using 80% methanol, 20% water and will go to straight methanol.

Alcohol pump sits on the battery, nozzle before the throttle body.
Coolant jug is the alcohol resovoir and the coolant overflow goes into a bottle
that fits nicely next to the methanol resovoir.
Controller sits on the fuse box cover.
Dial switch for alcohol enable point vs boost and a max boost setting. Pump ramps up
vs boost from the starting point to max setting.

Pulls hard to the end. I am very happy with this setup.
I will start taking the boost up when I get some heavier weights installed,
and go to straight methanol.

Thanks Ammo, I need to get it inside somewhere where it's warm and make it look a little
more stealth. Anyone not familiar with the T660 might not pick up on it.

I notice that in the previos pic it looks like the pump is too close to the muffler but it is actually
away by quite a bit, as shown in this pic.
It rests on 1/2" foam which attaches to the battery bracket.

The nozzle is an M7 with a screen. Hose from pump to nozzle is rated at 300psi and the pump
puts out just over 100psi, so it is putting some alcohol in there, and the motor takes every
bit of it . Likes it grinning-smiley-023.gif

Well.....I went to straight methanol with 25psi and it went a little too rich and lost
a couple hundred rpm.
I went to a 75/25 ratio today and am calling it good for now. Runs strong and rpm's.

There is a level switch available for the tank but I just keep an eye on the level.
Also, there is a pressure switch in the pump head that can be used to drive a solenoid that
bypasses the boost control valve thus putting the boost back to stock automatically upon loss
of alcohol pressure, for whatever reason. I am going to dig up a solenoid and put it on.

So far everything is working according to plan grinning-smiley-023.gif

27psi today and no trace of detonation, I know when this thing detonates.

A few questions for you guys and gals, and I would appreciate some input:

Should I expect to see a small boost gain if I install a JD's aircleaner?..... Looks like a
nice outfit.
What if I removed the stock airfilter element to get by for a race, any gain?
Anyone have a part number for a wider chain and sprockets ? Stock gear
ratio is fine. My races are less than a 1/4 mile usually.
I broke a couple of chains in a Tcat and that educated me, the hard way .

Thanks,
Steve
