Delgaty
I was right behind mofo when the guy came out of the shack. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say this guy is AGAINST aftermarket exhaust for sleds....
sledmeds#6
LOL hes the ldb bum lives out in a iceshack there. He is a super nice guy, better watch out i hear he throws buckets of poop if u piss him off lol
The Flying Pumpkin
Are you guys serious about this guy? We've passed that shack numerous times this year and I thought myself it was the stupidest location for an ice fishing shack. Kept trying to convince myself there was a little creek there or something. Which there could be, I don't know, but little is an understatement that's for sure. WEIRD!

I meant to say pirate. I think when we pass this shack we should donate a non perishable food item. LMAO I still cant believe this guy lives on the trail. LMAO
Rockhaven
Last time I drove by it, I thought 'what a strange place for a warm up shack'. never did stop and check it out though. Someone needs to stop and take a pic of this place and post it. It looks hilarious with the old bike frame on top.
07Dragon
I WANT TO SEE IT, WHEN WE WERE KIDS WE USED TO SLED BY THIS OLD INDIAN TRAPPER HUT MADE OUT OF SOD. ONE DAY I FOUND A 1/2 GALLON CONTAINER OF TOBACCO ON THE TRAIL AND TOOK IT TO HIM, FROM THAT DAY HE ALWAYS WAVED. SO TAKE HIM SOME SMOKE, LOL smoke.gif
formula-guy
come on guys be nice if you drive by him give him a donation like i did.
Dynamite
He used to be on the ice right by the narrow bridge to pointe. I guess he moved there when the ice melted. Don't see living like that anymore.

Well, the guy that you all made fun of...his name is Kenny. For those of you who read snotrax magazine, last winter they did an article on him. He was a driver for John Deer in the late 70's and one of the only guys to cross the finnish line in the Winnipegopolis. He didn't come in first, but did finnish the race so imagine yourself driving ungroomed trails on a machine from the 70's for 500 Miles! Show some respect for Kenny! Since John Deers departure from the sport in 82, Kenny has only picked up odds and ends for work. His hope was to open a sled shop and that is why he's "on the trail". Sledding is his life and that's why he's there. If you have a spare beer or something good to eat, he's great to talk too!
Cheers,
EZW

I saw the shack as well, I wonder what he would say to my John Deer sled!! I might just stop by next time, (drop off some food) I did think it was strange to have a shack on the side of the trail like that.....
lake king 95
Were is this location you guys are talking about?
Toolman
He has been there for some time now. We saw him there when we were quadding in the area last Sept.
It must be a lot of work to keep the shack warm in -40 weather.

He is located on the old rail bed approx. 3 or 4 miles west of LDB.
The Blaze
i'll give him a donation alright......

pics are needed too.

When your heading south from LDB your a couple of km's out of town. The trail starts to narrow into the bush line, if you catch it will be to your right hand side in a lower set area. He's got to be only 10 feet from the trail.....
snow turkey
This troll was a really awesome racer in his time. Drove a liquifire and liquidator. you can laugh at him but think about it.... What else is there in life if you aren't to the pin trying to beat the next guy. .... ice fishing after the zamboni goes by...
hammra
i have to see this guy, ill donate a box of KD if i drive by him. sounds crazy how he has a bike on his roof.
Catdog800
When you guys mentioned this Kenny in the shack I thought nothing of it until I drove by today and noticed it for the first time as we headed into LDB. I didn't have my camera and I will try to bring something out next time...
The Flying Pumpkin
Okay, I'm curious though, why the heck does he live in a shack? I mean, if he was apparently this great racer in his time and what not, what the heck is he doing living in a shack? That's totally awesome that he's got this great past, but it's also sad to see him go from 'being something' to now just a guy living in a shack. I don't get that. Surely he must have a house and just spends a lot of time in this shack. I would also think that the local RCMP would cause problems regarding him living in this shack wouldn't they? I don't know, I just think it's all really weird.
