I bought a 1996 800 storm. It has 4900 miles and seems to want to run good but when you give it gas it acts like it wants to load up when you hold it wide open. Runs great cold but when it warms up it loads up. Cleaned the carbs checked the reeds and all is good.It has good comp. Any advice on what it could be. Any would be helpful. Thanks jason

Are your choke cable stuck on?

As a test, warm up your engine, then remove choke cables from carbs. Take it for a test spin, just do do it for long.

Make sure that your carb float bowl vent hoses are connected properly to the stock airbox. It will run too rich if not.

As far as i know it is stock. I moved the clip on the needle up one spot. It was in the middle setting. Could one of my rings be burnt out allowing fuel to pour in and flood it or do you think it could be the cdi boxes? Thanks

ok, first of all put your clip back in the middle, storms like to burn down in the midrange, again look at your mains, if they are stock drop them 2 sizes, also tell me what your clutching is , helix, gears, springs, weights, then I will tell you what to put in it.

no if its really easy, may be very weak spring, any how try this combo, 46/36 full progessive helix have a little of the back cut out if you can for a little more overdrive, Dark Blue/white in primary, Silver/Blue in secondary 3rd hole, 62 gram weights, change your top gear to a 21 gear, also make sure your belt is good or put a new one on, make sure to use a Polaris belt

I had a 97 storm that started acted similar. It felt like it would foul a plug, but the plugs were fine. It ended up being crank seals.
