Thinking of purchasing an EFI ATV and would use it for snowplowing. A guy told me today of the potential problem of running the battery down while plowing, (winch, lights, cooling fan, EFI electronics, etc.) and the engine running poorly from low voltage. Makes sense. Anyone encounter this problem?? Looking for feedback mainly from Polaris, Can-Am, and Arctic Cat owners. Thanks! Roger

I wouldn't think that there would be a problem battery wise plowing. I own a Polaris 800 and can run the winch all day long with the machine at idle. The lights dim at first but no real issues. Maybe if I had a weak battery it would be different, its only a year old.

My 06 Sportsmen 700EFI plows great, never had an issue with it. Starts well each time and I never noticed anything with the electrical system draining while plowing

X2!! That's the one thing that disappointed me about my 07 700. Mine won't start if it's colder than 30F, and that's in the unheated garage. Have you ever had to pull start a 700 4 stroke?????

I havent had a single problem starting my Arctic 07 700EFI. Even when it was below zero it started.. cranked a few more times then normal but it started right up. Used it all winter for doin snow removal and didnt have a single problem. Well winch cable got wound up backwords one time but thats was it.

ive got a 07 cat 700 an i agree the batterys are weak , but pull starting is no problem on those cold ass days. im so glad to have back up pull start unlike some quads . when i bought my quad that was one of the first things i tried before taking it home making sure i could pull start the beast .

No shit. It sat for like 3 months though, without getting touched so I think that is most of the problem.

There must be something wrong with your batteries or electrical systems, I have A prowler 650, and a 07, 700 , and a 650 H-1 and I never have any problems use two for plowing they start great even when its ten below, all of them have always started great for me. They all park in a non heated barn. The prowler and the 700 are used for plowing and they work great with no Battery problems.
