Okay, my dad bought a brand new 2006 FST Switchback, we get it home, ride around the yard, 3 miles, check engine light comes on, bring it back to dealer, they clear the codes, saying water in fuel. Okay, get it home, dealer is 50 miles away, go out riding, start crossing a virgin snow field, and the sled goes intop free wheel, dad pops hood, secondary is turning, but sled isnt moving, just making a growling sound. He puts it into reverse, and all is fine, back to forward, no more problems rest of day. Stop at gas station, fill it with 93 octane, check gas mileage, 10 mpg, and he road it like grandpa. We ride a lil more, maybe 25 miles, and the light comes back on, he rides about 15 miles more, light goes off. stop at next station, fill up again, add some isopropol, and off we go, 10 mpg, grandpa riding, this sucks. Get home, take it out next day, riding around yard, Light comes on again. Back to dealer, this time, same code, fuel related, dealer installs new air filter, and does up date on chain case, again. Love the sled, lets it warm up to 120, and is easy on it, but he sold his RXL because of comp problems, Here we go again???400 miles on it now......

You may need a new dealer. Chaincase should have been done long ago. If the sled still runs good with CEL light on ride it. There is not a code I know of that indicates water. There are many codes that are not serious like the one you are getting about fuel. What is the exact code?

the dealer showed him all the updates, and the chaincase, was one of them, so they said they did another shim on it, Im not sure on the code, fuel delivery is what they said, im happy witht he dealer, but am going to start going to the one about 3 miles away.. Gas mileage is horrid, but the sled is awesome...maybe a new exhaust, and a K&N air filter

I was talking to a kid the other day, who had his iq come from the factory with the cam chain off 1 tooth.. His check engine light wouldn't stay off.. I guess it drove his dealer nuts, until they found it. (after replacing the computer & the harness)
