Hey guys I am looking for your opinions on the triple machZ's I am currently looking at a 99 Mike Houle as well as a older chassis 97 and was looking for some opinions on what kind of trail machine they are as well as how they work on the drag strip.

Thanks

Try to get a 99 or newer Mach. The 98's had electrical and oiliing issues. They can be made into a good trail sled. Add an ETS kit to the rear suspension to kill some of the ski lift. You are not going to just sit on the sled and have it run through the trails though. You do have to work at it and move your weight around. On the drag strip when proplerly dialed in they are one of the fastest sleds going.

I've got a 98 Mach. Most of my riding is on trails. The front is a little heavy in the corners but it more than makes up for it on the straights. I put 02 MXZ shocks and spings on the front of mine along with precision ski's. In the rear I installed a AD Boivin ETS kit and a 1.25 ripsaw track. What made the biggest improvement in comfort was a BOSS seat and handle bar risers. The sled is really good in the trails and great for drag racing.

I've got a couple of Houles and love em. Factory RER on Houles, all 98' issues are solved. Ride it in the trails, dont let it ride you, and dont shy away from anything on the straights. 124 mph on gps/2000.....117/1500 smiley-faces7.gif

Great drag/lake sleds.I had 3 of them. They do require alot of body english in the trails to keep the ski's planted.I had a 98 and two 99's.The 98 did have electrical issues with the hand warmers,high/low beam, fuel gage.I had stator problems with all of them. Two of my machs had crank bearing failures at around 4k.

I had a 98 Mach, loved it, Upgraded to a 2002 Mach three years ago, loved every minute of riding it. Like they say, you have to muscle it through the trails but as soon as your through that corner, hang on!
Actually looking to sell my 2002 right now. Awesome working sled.
