2006 Yamaha Apex RTX with reverse and around 3800 miles. I am the original owner and purchased this sled new in February of 2006. It has never been rolled, wrecked or had any issues. I’ve only ridden this sled on the trails in the UP and have always taken great care of it. It has always been serviced by a local Yamaha dealer at the start of each season having the oil changed, chain case oil changed, track aligned, lubed, and completely gone through each season. It has had the updated handlebars and boogie wheels installed. The only reason I am selling is because I have been going out west at lot more and riding more off trail riding and picked up a 2008 Arctic Cat M8 Sno Pro with a 153” track. I can’t justify keeping such a nice sled to sit on a trailer and barely be used.

It has a Factory extended warranty (YES – Yamaha Extended Service) till Feb. 2011 that is transferable. The extended warranty is definitely great for peace of mind and resale. It covers anything that isn’t a wear item. The extended warranty for 5 years (original one year warranty plus 4 y ears) cost $800 dollars. I haven’t needed to use it but having it and not having to worry is a great thing. There is no deductible, and YES coverage automatically includes TRIP - Travel and Recreation Interruption Protection. With TRIP, expenses related to a covered failure can be covered as well. up to $150.00 per occurrence. This means unexpected food or lodging expenses, transportation expenses and even rental vehicle.

If you weren’t aware, the Apex is an extremely reliable snowmobile. It shares the same engine platform (998cc) that Yamaha uses in its R1 street bike. It is a very smooth running engine with power at almost any speed. The RTX model includes the Fox Floats and the adjustable rear suspension by using a dial next to the seat. I also have the Fox float air pump to adjust the front shocks to suite your needs and have it currently set at 70psi. It has a spare belt that has never been needed and is currently running on the original belt and spark plugs. I had it studded after the first season and put on about 1500 miles with studs. I went with the 144 Woody’s mega bites right down the center of the track. The track is a 1 ¼ inch Ripsaw with 1.325 studs and in good condition. I didn’t want to get too close to the heat exchanged and went this route to be safe. I also added a skid plate, a-arm protectors, an Apex Mountain riser (2 inches higher than stock), a stiffer rear spring (came with a 4.5 spring rate, is now a 6.0 and is recommended for anyone over 200lbs), hand guards, nosebag, windshield bag, tank bag and saddlebags. The 2006 snow flap was flimsy and would get tucked under the track when going in reverse. I added a 2007 Apex snow flap, which eliminated this problem. The engine, clutch and everything else on the sled are completely stock. Except for normal wear and tear, this sled is perfect and needs nothing.

I am open to trades for a pontoon boat or a partial trade for a cheaper trail sled. I don’t trail ride much but want a backup sled or cheaper trail sled. I’d prefer a Viper but am open to sleds from 1999 and above. Please email me with what you have before assuming I’ll take it or its value. I can be reached at 908-917-3800 or keithanthony@gmail.com
