Trip Report 2/29 – 3/1

Stayed at Motel Le Phare in Plessisville Thursday night, restaurant not open for breakfast, and unable to find the snowmobile trail from their parking lot. (long story)

Drove to Manior Du Lac William, Friday morning. Nice place, ate breakfast buffet for $8.00. Reserved room for Friday night, expensive $225 for two people one night including breakfast and dinner. They have a gated coral for truck parking, and charge $20 per day if you don’t stay at the hotel. They also have a heated locked garage for sleds.

Rode 235 miles Friday, very cold -22 Fahrenheit when we finally got going around 9:30. Snow coverage good, bumpy around St Marie as always, and a bit bumpy leaving hotel due to broken drag on side of trail. Drag was moved Friday night, but still bumpy.

Saturday rode 210 miles, snow gets thin/icy around Victoriaville, wouldn’t start any farther south/west of there. Snowed all day, was fun blasting through drifts in fields, couldn’t see anything due to light/snow, but fun and great in the woods.

I have stayed at the Manior on Lake William as well. Agreed it is a nice place to stay. The gated truck coral was nice as they lock the gate and then put a hotel van in the inside of the locked gate, sideways. Have to go to the front desk to have the van moved and the gate unlocked. Well worth the money to stay there as opposed to replacing your truck & trailer when some losers decide they want to take you for everything!

Yes, actually on the orange trail, right on the lake. There is a sign on the lake pointing you to the hotel.
