went riding with my bro yesterday, did 80 miles we cruised up to the top of a hill let off the throttle and it was like hitting the kill switch... no spark, NO lights would flash when we pulled it over either. we messed around looked for the obvious broken/chaffed wire, etc.. nothing. i gave the MPEM a good "love" touch we had spark... seemed weak though, and didnt want to start, actually it popped once then nothing... no spark again, so we looked around messed with wires to MPEM still nothing... kinda shook the MPEM aroung got spark, started up shut it off and sarted it 4 or 5 times then went like two miles and it died and never got spark again... tested kill switch and it was ok.... had continuity to/from stator... what should we get for voltage from stator and is it the three wire plug (black, black, red). any suggestions????

samething happened to mine, it was the stator. skidoo's don't have the best stators. I tested my old one and tested good but still bad. I' just about bet money on it.

Same thing happened to mine... So would it be the stator?

i have seen a few different problems on them. u can check down by recoil rope, wire retainer can chaif red/blue wire in harness, also lanard on dash under dess cap could be faulty if u bypass all three wires together sled would run but not rev over 3500 this would tell u the lanard was faulty,or look for ohm's at three prong connector from stator around 4 ohm's on one red and black and 11 on black/red and black may be other way around on ohm's to wires. if readings are there stator is good. hope this helps.
