Got a 12 gauge, it wasnt oiled before it was stored, has a bit of surface rust on the barrel, not too bad though. Whats the best way to get it looking new again?

I recommend that you use #0000 steel wool and a generous amount of gun oil. Lightly rub the rusted areas in a circular motion. It should clean up nicely.

perfec, Ill try that this week.

or just try Remoil with a rag, unless it is more then just surface rust

I kept a whole jug of CLP when I left the Army...it is miracle juice!!! My local gun store sells a knock off civilian version that seems to work well...

x2........steel wool,no matter how fine,will remove blueing,use a rag and gun oil.Remoil,or Outters.

I use the lowest stool wool grade and WD-40. Seemed to work good for me.
