Using a tutorial from http://www.gpssledmaps.com/guide/quick_map.php, every thing works fine as I add three different sets of tracks taken from my Garmin 60CSx that were cleaned up a bit in MapSource. Once I get to the point of doing the export to cGPSmapper to convert to an .img file, I get the following error message:

C:\users\<login name\Desktop\gps map\Tollgate.mp(36): Error E038: Type of element cannot be 0.

cgpsmapper.exe has terminated with error code 38

Software versions are GPSMapEdit 1.0.41.1 and cGPSmapper Version : 0094 Feb 17 2008

Any ideas? The track looks fine in GPSMapEdit.

One of your objects is set to Type=0 or Type=0x0. You have to check all your lines and make sure they're all set to a valid type in MapEdit, or you could open the .mp file in a text editor and do a find for "Type=0" or "Type=0x0" and set the element to some other type, such as a highway, road, etc.

After 'googling' around some more, I came across that fix. I just had to select by type, pick the one "track" and then set it to a different type. That fixed it.

I noticed that after adding waypoints to a map in MapEdit, some show up properly after the map is built with cgpsmapper and some don't. When I used the 0x4900 type (Recreation, Park) it shows up in both the .mp and .img files, but 0x6613 (Land, Ridge) which I use to represent tall hills just shows up as a small circle and not a small silhouette of a mountain. Is there a list somewhere of the specific waypoint types that cgpsmapper knows how to interprete?

Looking through the cgpsmapper manual, it looks like the Ridge type is supported, but isn't displaying in the final map properly.
