We rode from the Turnpike to Blue Hole, then to Wallats. The base is good with at least 6” of fluff on top. It really looked like winter with all the snow. The trails were ruff, bumps everywhere. I think if they get out and groom it with the 2-4 they are calling for on Friday it could be great. I guess yesterday was a very busy day on the trail, and at Wallats as well.
fredsleds
Thanks Tazbo....how was th washout coming back from Wallats (just before you hit the road in Laurel Mtn Village)....2 weeks ago it was almost not passable...a couple of sleds got pretty messed up climbing the 12" shear bank on the way back?
tazbo
Its still there, but with the snow it didn’t seem to bad. The other day as we were leaving, we came through the field and kept to the far right. That trail missed the water hole altogether

I plan on hitting LH saturday morning

We rode last night from 7 Springs to walats and back.....really cold..about 10 degrees which made for awesome conditions...most of the trails South of the turnpike had been groomer recently. The laurel summit road was smooth flat and fast...had agreat time at Walats talking to Mud, the owner...he even bought us a beer...the ham sandwich and a large fries was enough for 3 of us...today will also be great...the warm weathe ron Sunday will kill it fo a while though...get out NOW!!!!
86blackt
We will probably get up there tonight at about 7 or 8

snofish i got up there around 3:30 and rode till 7 i dont think i saw u of course it was pretty packed and a lot of sleds were out i rode 70 miles and it was rough i couldnt take the bumps anymore lots of snow but needed groomed bad but i can say for once i didnt hit any rocks
snofish
The south end was much better after getting there. we got in 70 mi also. Thought overall it was Great!!!!
I thought I saw u ripping up past the other lot next to 31, when we came to rest for 5 min. We had a blast...I just cannot believe Jerry comes 4-5 hrs to sled one day then go back home, but like the rest of us, he's addicted.
BigBizz
I know what u mean if it was me i think i would have to get a hotel for a nite lol i didnt ride to the south at all we stayd north and the only time i was in the parking lot south of 31 was in my pickup trying to find a place to park but the guys i was riding with wonted to run 65+mph the whole time i think thats what made it so rough thats not my pace but i had to keep up lol! hopefully the snow will hang in there over this warm spell for nextweekend
snofish
let me know , and we can go if it stays out, knowing that mnt, it slways suprises me to see how that place holds the snow, we just need that late nor-easter and we will be good for a few more weeks, now we just have to hope it's not rain.

I feel GRRRRRR8 !!!! What an unbelievable day yesterday at LH. My only regret is we didn't stay the night and ride this morning. We are idiots frantics.gif
As far as the drive goes, it's surprisingly easy to do. Compared to Tug Hill or Maine, a 4 hour drive feels short.

I haven't checked the helmet cam yet but I got a couple decent shots messing around with the powder. Here's a cropped lo-resolution shot of Snofish learning to fly his Doo. While we were heading north from the waterfall we pulled over to let the groomer go by. What a treat. I went first and really enjoyed that fast flat snow devil.png I wanted to show my buddy the bridge and Linn Run so Snofish took us for a QUICK loop to the north but the south side was way nicer bump-wise.

Hey Doug ,
How was your ride up at SB? I bet you enjoyed the Crossfire in all that powder! We were planning on coming up there but Jim was planning to ride Mt Davis alone so we decided to ride with him and save some miles too.
vmax600man
i did not ride 'cause i need a track. but bigbizz sent me some pictures from saturday's ride... enjoy.
snofish
Hay varmit, I can only hope you had as good a time as we did, WHO was that nut? Thanks again Helmet Cam JerryHow is scott felling today, he was a trooper keeping up with us as good as he did. Thank God for new technology and good suspensions.

We were there this weekend, we helped a guy get his Poo that had broke down in the woods on the trailer and a big thanks to the dick that stole one of my gas jugs out of the bed of the truck. We have always left the jugs there so that anyone who knows us can use it, as people have helped us out. Thanks for the oil again Viper!! Between our gas can getting stolen Friday night, and some other brain child parking right behind our trailer Saturday, it makes you wonder why people don't look out for their fellow snowmobilers. Anyone that sees a baby blue racing gas jug, give me a heads up. Other than that, the XPs seem to do pretty good on the strip. A bunch of " That thing is fast as SH*T!!" Good fun for all, and no one got hurt

I took a ride on the LH last night.. took beam run, PWS to Linn run, hooked up on the powder loop and back up beam run... They groomed the northern section yesterday so the riding was really good...
pontiac
Dvarmit, do you think the snow will hold up at SB for this weekend?

Looks like it might to some degree. I just checked the sno-cam for the SB exit on 80 and there is still a good bit of snow from how it looks. With the supposed "Big Daddy" coming Friday we should be able to ride... IF we get all the snow they are talking about and that's a big IF.

It wasnt taped, He bolted it to his helmet, and rode all day without gloves, to turn it on and off, one heck of a camera man. not to mention, can you believe having that weight on your head all day, Good job Jerry. and thanks again for the pic. I love it, makes me feel young again. I know Doug,,, we are not getting any younger, but the snow was deep and the landing was soft, well mine was, not so for the guy on the F7, I think he tried to get too much air and landed on the rear,,,,hard.
