Hi,

I bought some sleds from a guy in Bloomington who is a landlord. Apparently the sleds I bought were exchanged for some rent that was past due. Well, long story short, this guy only used them for a short while and decided they were too fast for him. So I bought the package (2 sleds and trailer). I went to register them today and the one sled checked out fine as did the trailer. The other sled though listed to a different year sled (same make and model) but the VIN was different. I called the DNR, gave that guy the VIN off the sled and he said it was fine - no notes about the sled at all other than it had not been registered since 1995. So I am sure that the sled is not stolen. What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated! no.gif

well if you have a friend in another state register the sled and you can regester the sled in your state with the old registration
use the registration and a bill of sale to your self from your friend
i'm a car dealer here in nh and if you need me to do it let me know, it cost 78 bucks here and i can send you a reg and stickers to put on like you bought it here and i sold it to you.

All you should have to do is go back to a different registration place and tell them you bought the sled and it has no numbers on it as it's been unused for years. Numbers can be reissued if unused for a number of years, probably what happened with yours. There are no titles on sleds and you don't need the registration card or even a bill of sale to transfer a sled in MN. when you buy it. If they ask, tell them the owner took the numbers off because they had been expired for years and didn't have the registration card. They will transfer it to your name, give you new stickers and you can ask them to have the state mail you new numbers (they are free). Should be no problem. I can't believe the place you went to wasn't more help. They usually will tell you what you need to do at the smaller places.

Thanks for the advice! It is appreciated. As of this morning, I did exactly what fastcat800 stated to do. Was in and out of the DVS office within 5 minutes with my new registration! luxhello.gif

Thanks to all for your assistance. I love this forum!!!!
