Yep, the cams in Haneyville, Cros Fork and Sweden Valley are looking pretty good right now. Still snowing and supposed to stay cold. Now, will it hold for the weekend?
Dvarmit says SB Elliot is looking okay so I'm guessing RB Winter might be okay as well.

Jim, I am certainly up for meeting somewhere on Friday or Saturday although if my son and I are going to ride with everyone it's going to have to be at SB or points around there. Doesn't matter to me.. There are more than enough trails to fill a day at SB. Should we start a thread and see who wants to meet up? I am not really into driving to Erie since thats three hours from SB but closer is fine. Just let me know. Just saw a post from someone up that way and they got 9" and calling for up to 6" plus possible snow on Friday!

Rode ANf from Lantz corners this past weekend through kinzu area and up into NY, Pretty rough riding and lots I mean lots of snirt in all corners and intersections. But, on a good note NY trails were very nice and everywhere in the anf has now a good base. So this snow today and tonight could make some good riding conditions all over that area, not just NY. I dont mind it up that way but does anyone think that Laurel highlands would be rideable this weekend? I dont feel like driving up that way again when LH is only 1hr away. And what is SB? Sounds good but not sure of what it stans for. Think cold and snow for maybe the best riding around the area this year. Kris

HEY Jim, Doug, Kris, Howard, _____?
So, who's going to ride where this weekend? Doug, is SB elliott the place to go? I have never been there. Close (Haneyville) but never SB. I was thinking about going to ANF but I would like a shorter drive if possible. I can't find SB in Mapquest but nearby Moshannon State Forest is 50 miles closer than ANF for me. Do SB trails connect to Moshannon?
I know it's the same old thing but how do you think LH might be this weekend, if at all?
Maybe we can get together somewhere and burn some precious fossil fuel...

I wouldn't say SB is the place to go but I can tell you that there is snow and it's ridable but the LH is ridable also. We kept getting snow until early this morning so it looks pretty good up on the mountain. S.B. Elliot is right off exit 111 Penfield on route 80. Snofish is talking about maybe coming up and riding. I can take some time Saturday morning to hook-up if thats what people want to do. Just let me know.
Trails don't hookup with Moshannon but they do hook-up with Parker Dam. There are more than enough trails to keep one riding for a day.

Ok, all, Jerry, Doug, Viper, and anyone else, Ive decided to ride friday here, but go to our old camp with the folks that bought it from me, by Ohiopyle, then from there go up to Mt Davis on saturday. There is a bunch up there, it should be fun figuring my way around. So if anybody wants to meet me there(MT Davis) let me know tonight or early fri morning.
Doug, thanks for the offer to show me around SB, and Im sure you will enjoy the time with your son, maybe next weekend. By the way, say THANK YOU!!!! to him for me. See ya soon up at LH

I am game for SB if you guys are going. According to Mapquest, it takes me 4 hours 10 minutes to get to LH. SB looks like 5 hours 10 minutes. I will gladly drive an extra hour to ride with you guys.
I can drive up friday and be ready for action early saturday. Let's GO !

Snofish and I were going to head up to Mt Davis later this morning but with all the snow, we don't know if we can make it up the mountain.
I think we are going to head up to LH since it's close and there's snow. If I don't hear from anyone, we are heading to the rt31 lot at 10am. We're easy to spot. Just look for the Virginia license plates. Oh crap. I better go sleep for a few hours. Happy riding

LH was in real good shape tonight with lots of new snow. We started out at Walats, rode to 7 Springs and back, snowed almost the whole time and turned to a sleet/rain mix when we left around 1:30. The trails were just starting to get a little bumpy but nothing bad. There were a few places we broke trail and there had to be close 12".

Well, I rode all over the place this weekend! I have some Potter pics to post up and a report on there as well as RB Winter. 200 miles between Saturday in Potter and then about 2hrs on Sunday in RB Winter.
I also have a wounded knee and a damaged Viper S from a serious case of stupidity trying to load my wifes sled on Sunday. I'll get into that as well. Time to go ice and elevate the leg!

I would say that SB will get kicked in the ass as well. The temps and rain are pretty much the same up there.. I think the only hope is that they call this storm wrong which this far out is probably a stretch. They are looking at a possible big one this Friday or Saturday but seeing how this winter has went I doubt it will happen. If you want to make yourself crazy you can read the discussions of this weekends storm here...

varmit, no not in sb that gas station was just outside ST. Marys, on washington road. near The Bavarian Hills golf course. Just up from the gas station we ate at the ELK CASINO. awesome food! I hope we get slamed with a good one also before its over.
On our way through your neck of the woods by vehicle on friday afternoon, there was a guy on a ski-doo getting gas at the nitney mart, rt 153 & 255. Asked if he was on H C S, he said he never herd of it. (I possibly thought it might have been you beings that i new you were going to already be up that way)
I will be vacant the next few days, group of 10 of us is going to Tug Hill, Hope the snow stays for us. And I also got my fingers crossed that this past weekend WASN'T our last ride in PA for the year.

talk to you when I get back.
