Trying to plan a 2 day trip from Carp (west Ottawa) to a buddies cottage near Maniwaki this weekend and am looking for advice and recent trail reports.

Looks like we need to take the 311 from Shawville though Ladysmith to Kaz and then the 13 to Maniwaki? Anyone make this trip in the past week? How long should this take and is there a better route?

Where is the best place to cross the Ottawa river, Contance Bay to Qyon or further up in Arnprior?

Thanks

Cross at the tree line in the bay. The only way to get to Maniwaki is through ladysmith as the trail is closed from Ladysmith to danford lake. That meams you have to run the k wood road for about 20k or so. It was dooable on the weekend and shouldn't be 2 bad with additional snow. Take you about 3-4 hours depending on # of stops

Anyone know if Pembroke to Maniwaki is doable in a day, and what conditions are like?
I can't find decent trail maps online, what would be the best trails to take?

Gonna have to drive for too soon.....here ya go.........www.fcmq.qc.ca/Cartes/ choose Outouais for region top right box, Maniwaki for city and scroll. Signage is pretty decent on the 43 south that you will be taking down from Pembroke.

Pm if you need anything else.
