this past weekend we finally got snow here to ride and what do u no i end up with a big boo boo on my sled. when i was going up a hill on my 06 fst the belt started to grumble so at the risk of getting stuck on the hill i gave it more throttle and made it to the top thinking my belt was now trash i opened the hood and inspected the belt which was glossy but fine in looking further the inner clutch plate had gouges taken out of it from the belt slipping i immediately called my dealer while on the trail and talked further with him today totell him to get the parts coming to find out the polaris has a back order on the damn thing even called polaris on it got the same deal hoping they cover it any ideas... 1zhelp.gif

I own a 06 fst switchback. had an earlier post about burnt belts and clutches that are toast. polaris told me to install slp vent kit and rmk vent in the side pannel. i did it. seemed to help the belt more at 40mph or faster to keep cool but didnt seem to change slow speeds. just smoked another belt and clutch 20 mph up a hill not hammering it just trying to make it up the hill. waiting for polaris to call me back. keep you posted.

they just gave me a free belt and clutch. was great and all but it still doesn't fix the problem. 4th clutch and 10th belt on my sled. 895 miles on my sled in three years. used to average 1,000 a year. deffinatly a problem. working with rep on fix for prob. no new news yet.

My belt blew at just over 500 miles, I didn't really look too closely at the clutch, since I was on the trail, & it was less than 10 degres out. I guess I should check it out.
