finally put some miles on my new 07 cruiser and have a few impressions and questions:
Handling
I actually have enjoyed riding the sh_t at the end of the day...this sled takess the bumps like a cadillac but unfortunately handles like one too. It pushes really bad and requires much more upper body strength to steer...making trail riding a work out. i have read many posts about this being the big complaint so I knew what to expect. I will probably try the Holtz spindles next year to make the steering easier but what to do about the push? Using studded track with 6" skaggs.
Studded Track
Part of my deal was free studdng of the track so I'm not sure the dealer did it the best they could? How many studs would be best? After riding last weekend with 2 other non-studded lighter sleds, I got stuck 3 times when they made it through. These were mostly extreme angle stream beds with ice water and mud. I know this is stupid but...is it possible a studded track could be done less than perfect, not enough studs or cheap ones, and defeat it's purpose? Is it possible since I ride at the most forward position that the rear is too light? I have owned 96 and 97 polaris touring sleds and I don't recall getting stuck so easily.
Shhhhhhhhhhh turbo sound
Is the turbo sound like this pretty loud? I do not recall it being so pronounced as on my first ride only 20 miles or maybe something it not right?
Tank bag
2 dealers ordered the wrong bag for this sled. If you look on pure polaris it actually lists 2 bags as working on this sled. The 3rd that I ordered directly form pure polaris is "IQ Fusion Deluxe Tank Map Trunk Bag"
http://www.purepolaris.com/Detail.aspx?Ite...arisPGACatalog)
even though it is not a Fusion this is what the latest dealer said was in their book. When I went to install it, the base that wraps around the tank does not fit well on top...@2" gap???...anyboy have the correct part number for the tank bag?
or is it this "IQ Touring Deluxe Tanks Map bag"

minor bs
mirrors are useless
no clip to hold spare belt in engine compartment
possible fuel guage issues (I know about the bend to fix it, I thought it was corrected in 07 though?)
high beams could be better
should have front and rear visor heater ports as standard
rear seat handle bars are wrong position for small children
heavy!!!
what is great
best ride of anything I have owned or test rode...the cadillac of sleds
handles bad trails with ease
very very very fast
good looking design
very comfortable for long rides
instruments are easy to operate and well designed
descent cargo storage under seat
tall windshield
quiet
a great sled so far and if you are used to polaris it fits like a glove.
